If I could put the love of steampunk in my heart for this derby to make something that true fans of it would want, I definitely would. Unfortunately all I could do was research it, which I did do, and make what seemed on theme to me.

I get what you're saying tho, a lot of the designs just don't "feel" steampunk and if you're really into steampunk then you probably were looking forward to a good shirt that captured the spirit of it. It's disappointing when the winning ones don't. That's how I felt in the deco derby anyways. Btw, I'd still like a real deco shirt if anyone knows of one...

Thanks very much to those that do like the design tho. And those that don't, that's cool too. I just like the attention.

Just because its pretty and blue doesn't mean it isn't steampunk.

It may not be grungy robots, but in my mind its there. All a matter of perspective and opinion of course.

There appears to be some feeling that steampunk must involve steam (I know that the steam has been pointed out in this already). The problem is that steam isn't a necessity of steampunk style. At the beginning of the derby woot pointed to the wikipedia article, which if I may say has a picture of a steampunk computer, with NO steam (for obvious reasons).

Don't give up hope! I think that your design has a chance of making it back into the fog!

I was amazed that your shirt was rejected because of a color issue. I am actually surprised how often this has been an issue recently. Keep up the good work and submissions!

Looks tons better on brown, though I must admit it took me a few glances to realize there was a girl on the left. Her dress blends into the smoke, making it fairly hard to notice.

Thanks! That's a good observation. I wish that I would have thought about that earlier. I actually drew it as an outline, and filled it in after transferring it to computer. I also thought about giving it a pattern like those seen in skeleton watches.
