Re: Forest Fire

This is a first try at this style, so I hope it turned out ok. I used one of my paintings as a basis for the composition and have the aching hand today to verify that each dot and dash was original (no halftones or filters).
I hope you like it!

The alternate title for this was "Dots and Other Things That Aren't Good for You."

This week's theme is hard. I like smooth lines! They're so clean and pretty. Still, I refuse to sit it out, so here's the best I could do.

I like it a lot. I just don't like the color scheme. I think it's pretty feminine. However, I couldn't tell you a better color scheme to use because I think that the colors you used are accurate.

"If drinking is bitter, change yourself to wine." -Rainer Maria Rilke

"Champagne is a very kind and friendly thing on a rainy night." -Isak Dinesen

"There are many ways to the recognition of truth; Burgundy is one of them." -Isak Dinesen

Great job, just it's on black...too hot for black all the time.

Re: Lite Pirate

Roger wants glow-in-the-dark ink. If not, oh well. The white-color is fine too. =/

I'm sorry I had to resort to PIRATES...I'd wear it, does that matter?

Wow, I didn't realize the octopus would be so common for this derby. O.O

Anyway I had a hard time making sure this was pointillism and not stippling. Hopefully it's okay.

I also hope it's subject is clear. The octopus head is the sun and he's toying with a planet in each tentacle. The elimination of Pluto was convenient for this since now there are eight planets.

Ha! Tell us to draw whatever we want and we all draw octopus and squid. Figures, eh? Yours is very pretty. Looks graceful, which I know is hard to do with dots.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice. I tried to make the girl stand out a bit more. And I gave the box some dimension (although it's maybe hard to see so small).

I didn't see the octo at first, but now that I do it's very cool. Very pretty, Loop.

Nice work. I can tell you like this style! The little accents of blue and purple over the warm tones are wonderful. They add a lot of interest to it.

I do. I really love it. I kind of want to do everything in pointillism now.

There's actually no purple or green dots in the design, it's just the other dots blending. This is why I love pointillism.

Looks like we're octo-buddies this time, huh! That's okay. Yours is a very solid composition. Looks great!
