the white spot is a paint splatter, surrounded by black overspray. taggers would often lay down a base coat of a light color as a primer before painting an elaborate piece, or a "burner".

THIS IS WHAT ART IS SUPPOSED TO INSPIRE. CONVERSATION AND CRITICAL THINKING. SO HAVE A CONVERSATION, AND DONT JUST WAIT FOR EACH OTHER TO BE 'READ/heard'. Please. And just in general.

First look I thought it was "pretty cool" Then I noticed the sign of evil on it. The blasted star of Texaco! The evil ones have marked the fish!

I would, however, like to know what the kanji says. Maybe simply 'koi' or a 'fish'. Actually, I know the kanji for fish. -examines- No, it's not a fish kanji.

The writing doesn't make any sense at all.

I read the description and it says the kanji doesn't mean anything....it's made up.

Does it look like a little dragon going up the shirt to anyone else?

why is the 'right side' placement have the design on the left side of the shirt (as of wearer's perspective)

Why is the carp a commie?

I showed it to a Japanese coworker and another one who originally comes from Taiwan. Both of them said these are not any recognizable Kanji characters they are familiar with. One of them said some of the strokes were real and it showed that the artist is familiar with calligraphy, but it is likely just a design.

colors are awesome. japanese graffiti write up on I do, occasionally, pick my nose was really cool. in for two. one for my brother and I

Jibberish kanji... Carp with Commie star and camo print... Anarchist-evoking grunge...

Is anyone else thinking that this reminds him/her of the Vietnam War besides me?

Uhh, what? Maybe I don't have a clue, but that pattern on the fish looks like camo to me. If you're talking about the shirt itself, that's not what was being discussed. And the shirt is Olive, not Army Green.

I agree on the placement. If it were centered I'd consider buying this one for sure. I'd actually like it without the fake Asian writing and communist star on the head of the fish. Those aside I love the camo fish!

its a pattern, it doesnt matter what color green it is

for those fixated on the star on the forhead, im sure the artist doesnt mean anything by it. i checked out his various designs, and he seems likes painting fish, and he likes putting symbols on the forheads, usually in red. i saw an exclaimation point, a down arrow, a bullseye, a first aid cross, the number 6, the number76, the home symbol, and im pretty sure i saw an ampersand

ok, after a description like that now all I want is a shirt that says "i'm a poopyface" in a different language without me knowing. Best shirt idea ever.

I don't really dig the "dee-zane" but the write up is a crack up! Excellent for a chuckle!

If you flip it horizontally and have a mirror image of it it just might say something... It looks as though, possibly, the artist wanted it to be a message to the wearer, not the people who are looking at it... Just one theory. Anyone with character experience (is this Chinese?) who can check this?

PS, I did end up getting one. I like this artist's work, even if at the end of the day it has no true message hidden within.

I don't get this. For pretty much every shirt ever, they've had some version of the actual shirt color in this part of the write-up. I'm not seeing any part of Olive in "jokey!". Am I missing something?

it seems weird how much venom has been spewing over a shirt design. I hope the artist is well amused by all this theorizing and sniping.

in any case, this was an awesome design, and I'm in for one. not for myself, but for my teenager.

Bizzare t-shirt design. I ordered one because I like designs that are a little different... I went to the artists web site and WOW, he is way out in abstract left field. I love it!
