I'm not particularly calling it off topic now- woot has made it clear that they have topics just as guidelines, not as rejectable reasons. To say it's abstract is a bit laughable, though- I'd call it graphic as hell. and that's where it really ought to be rejected, not about topicality.

That's your question?! Not there are penguins in Scotland? Or how did they build it with no fingers, let alone hands?

lots of great designs and fun ideas...but i would love to see more options between ultra-simple and ultra-complicated! graphic tees are far more fun to wear if the people you run into can quickly "get" the joke or admire the art without having to stare at your chest for ten minutes.

(or maybe that last sentiment is just the puritanical voice of society in my brain?)

so wootchawootchawootchawant?! you're so funny with that money that you flaunt...

Look at one of the other entries and notice how they have a picture of the shirt on a shirt comp. Do the same. Follow the rules. It's not as difficult as some derby entrants would lead you to believe based on their submissions.

Love the concept and the look on the monster's face. I do wish that the colors were reversed, and the boy was in orange and the monster blended in with the shirt color...it works better for me if your eye gravitates to the boy first, then the beast, as is the case with your thumbnail.

Still, GMV.

Re: Mystery... Mr. E?

That does suck that it got rejected because this would've been a damn cool shirt. I do think it's a little dumb that a question mark especially in this sense is considered text but I understand it.

As a side note does anyone else find it a bit ironic that Shirt.woot's very logo is considered "text" I sure as hell do ;)

baloonce wrote:I really like this design. I would change a couple things in regards to color though. Shirt color green or black. Stone color more of a gray, and the spirits kimono a haunting blue like the color of the shirt shown.

Thanks for the feedback. I played with many color combinations, but wanted to keep the shrine green to give the impression of it being moss-covered. The shrine being green sort of dictated that the shirt not be green too or it wouldn't stand out enough.

Yea, I feel bad agreeing with you because you can tell this would take a good bit of time to draw out. It's really good work but I dunno...just lacking. Plus I really hate wearing black shirts, they make me look fat and a bit emo. Now I'm off to go cut myself and walk upstairs without getting winded this time, wish me luck!

Re: Murder Mystery

Like the idea, don't like the execution (no pun intended). It looks hastily designed and, for lack of a better word, blotchy. I'd like to see a resubmit that's cleaned up and wearable.

So far, there is only one shirt in this derby that I'd wear, and this ain't it. :-\

Come now, what a poor reason to vote for it! I agree, I'm not a fan of censorship either. I have no real issue with the shirt showing a murder. I wouldn't buy it or wear it, but the same can be said for the vast majority of other shirts as well! But to vote for something just for that reason takes away a possible win for shirts that are actually on topic- which this is not. As I've seen someone say, there is no mystery. Not all murders are mysteries, some are quite clear cut, this is one of them.
