Re: Safe Journeys

I would stick with one color so that you can get the most out of the votes. Just my 1.5 cents.

Because of the placement and color of the tear, this shirt could not really be worn by either a woman or anyone who's not white.

I like it on green a lot. For one, the red pops off more.

Re: Wisdom & Courage

In Japanese culture, the koi is a symbol of wisdom and courage. In folklore, it's said that every year thousands of koi swim up the Rainbow (Dragon) River but only one of those thousands makes it to the Rainbow (Dragon) Gate to fulfill it's goal and become a dragon. The koi shows the will to go against odds to reach the destiny.

Larger version here

Also, for anyone curious as to the colorings, I was very intrigued with the white with red dot Tancho and white and black with red dot Tancho Sanke koi and went with that for the striking color combination, but wanted to include that golden body that you see on more common koi such as the Kawarimono, Utsuri and Ochiba.

Incredible, especially considering you did this with a limited color palette. Loving the dragons, this one is the best.

very interesting, i like it.

i'd be curious to see how it would look if the flame color and dragon colors were reversed (the orange-fade dragon breathing purple-bluish flames). just a thought.

i like the idea, but i (like many others) don't look good in yellow. i would've done a more "universal" color.

JordanTG wrote:Yes, to be honest i have been only wearing V-necks for almost 3 years, but just last week for the first time because of your shirt, and leonryans shirt i decided to change it up. My neck feels like it's suffocating, i like my neck to breathe lol. Maybe one day woot will catch on.

That's a good reason to like anchors also. I'm just very metaphorical, when it comes to things like this. It reminds me of a format song, where he says "Sailors think twice before anchoring". A lot of truth in those lyrics.

Yes, I see them as change because you can bring some stability to your life, but if you want to move on you just bring the anchor up and let the wind catch your sails.

Also, don't go see 500 days of summer. It wasn't what i was expecting. Assuming you were interested in those kinds of things.

Good luck with everything, and would you be ok with me added you to facebook? It's hard to find someone whom shares a love of anchors like myself.

Cheers.

I don't know why no one offers v-necks. Anyone know? Aside from the suffocation (VERY annoying) people just don't look that great being cut off right at the bottom of their neck. V's are way more attractive. I guess we could start a petition. We have 2 signatures anyways and it can only go up from there.

Of course you can add me on facebook. Be my friend or fan, I have both.

Everyone else, thanks for the great comments. The more this goes on the more I'm wishing this would do better too. It would look so good for the summer! Guess I'll have to just make one for myself. Wouldn't be the first time.

This was inspired by Haida totem pole I saw when I was on vacation in Victoria, Canada as well as some really nifty Haida tattoos I found while researching online. They were nice and simple with few colors and interesting designs.

Anyway, I hope everyone likes the shirt! Please let me know what you think, critique away!

A little different version.

I still like black shirts. A lot. It's 61 degrees here right now. And July! Brrr.

Halftones are printable based on what I've seen done here before.

If there's any question, woot can view the print ready.

5 colors on black. Thanks for any votes!
