I don't understand why a few mediocre artist have a bunch the HM and some outstanding artists, such as your self, only have one. That's outrageous!
Alright, I could accept the mediocrity if the concepts behind them were stellar, but um, they are most assuredly not.

My deductive reasoning says it's the plastic bag.
1. They will be shipping them for a long time.
2. No commission.

Pretty please,
I really need to know about gradients here, where was the gradient size help write up I was reading about on woot?

Does anyone have the link?

Wasn't there a limited pixel size to the gradients?

I am not completely sure why they would want gradients if the product is an non-screen printed bag.

I do wish they would clarify.
Thanks all!

I'm excited about this upcoming bag-derby! I don't have any honorable mentions, but good luck to everyone who does!

I was looking over the rules again and as far as colors go I'm pretty sure woot stated it simply enough:
"Designs can use only three ink colors: black, Shirt.Woot blue, and Shirt.Woot yellow"

To me this means only three colors, so no gradients... because.. a gradient would contain more than three colors, even if you only use black and white. But that's just my interpretation. :-)

when you refer to "pixel size," do you mean halftones?

Gradients are NEVER allowed. However you can convert your gradient into a halftone to get the same sort of effect. Just keep your halftones to 5 pixels (I believe) or greater.

PS.. did I mention I hate Double-Take Derbies?

"Shiny desu" means "shiny cute". "Desu" is "cute" in Japanese, sometimes in an insulting manner (at least in this case), and whoever said that was mocking ramy's uber "desu" designs.

kawaii is "cute" in Japanese. Desu translates to "it is" in Japanese.

I think I'm going to try my hand at designing a bag. Have a few ideas rattling around in my brain right now. Looking forward to the double take derby as well. I'm Seeing some great entries so far.

This was my Honorable Mention. : ) Seems there are quite a few great designs for this next derby. I haven't been here for all of those derbies that the HMs were picked, so it'll be neat to see which ones get a second chance from those derbies I never got to see!

So this means Woot is doing away with this style of bag for the shirts? But Hillary loves her raincoats...

I think they are just changing the design on said bag.. not getting rid of the bag altogether.

i've been buying for over a year, but a noob to the boards.

please explain in cliff notes version. thank you.

"Desu" is a meme now, regardless of whatever it used to be.

I suppose it's somewhat my fault for bringing it on the boards because that's what I recommended to Adder to call the kawaii, shiny chibi junk instead of saying it's straight up anime. There's a lot of fantastic anime/manga-styled illus out there and the chibis are a poor representation. There's one other reason, which has to do with Sekiyoku's former life on DeviantArt, but you'll have to find that out for yourself.
