Dude, you'd be surprised to know I've never had that throne.

But yeah, I may hate everything, including this shirt that LITERALLY anyone could create making $1000 (think of how much money that is for literally typing 14 letters), but even I think that specifically HATING organ donation makes you a *BLEEP* to levels never seen before.

At first, I thought the shirt was just weird placement, and a balderah kid saying "I organ donation!" with his little helmet and whatnot. It was stupid. Then I thought about it, and subsequently got the joke.

Pretty clever. I would have loved for this to have been executed more creatively, but that would take away from the entire point of the shirt.

And uh.. Tigerlion, or Beardog, whatever, I understand that you're one of those B's that disagrees with something for no reason. I mean, the world needs those people to make the rest of us look like non-dbags. But, don't say he has an agenda. As if his reason for making the damned shirt was to tell the world, "I DONATED MY HEART AND LOVE IT WITH ALL MY HEART EVERYONE SHOULD DONATE THEIR HEART!

He is just doing a play on words. Or.. a lack thereof, as it is in this case.

If you actually think that he has an agenda, then I venture to guess that, just maybe, the reason you're taking this stand on organ donation, is because science hasn't quite figured out how to successfully give one a brain, and this makes you bitter towards people who have had other organs donated to them.

Might I suggest a walk down the yellow brick road?

I am sure no one has ever seen that tshirt before.

The popularity of that shirt, and the numbers of uninspired riffs off it, makes the text all the more boring. And it still doesn't change that this is something that can be (and probably was) recreated in the time it takes to find the font, download it, and make less than 20 keystrokes.

Sarcasm noted.

My point is this - complain about the lack of effort, complain about the lack of inspiration, but don't comlain about the font. In order to parody something, it must be recognizable what is being parodied.

Also, are you going to the T'less meetup? I'd like to meet you in person. We should play Scrabble.

I don't feel like I'm really a "Threadless member" enough to feel right at a Threadless meet-up. I enjoy the atmosphere, but I'm not really more than an occasional commentator, so I'd feel my presence would be out-of-place.

That said, if I ever do make it to a Threadgathering (and believe me, they do sound like fun), I'll even bring the Scrabble board.

The donor doesn't care. The donor is dead. What use does the dead donor have for decaying matter? None.

I'd say Tigerwolf's selfishness shocks me, but it really doesn't. I'd be interested in how her ethos changes if she or someone she loves is ever in need of an organ. One of my mom's best friends, who is also a very good friend of my own, is only alive today due to a donor heart after a normal infection mutated and weakened hers. She's in perfect health otherwise: never smoked, didn't drink much, average weight, mid-forties. Five years and counting with the donor heart, which otherwise would simply be wasted decaying matter taking up future landfill space.

As for the shirt itself, it's a cute idea but definitely not original enough.

I was tempted to buy this shirt b/c the joke made me laugh, but I prob shouldn't since my brother's heart was donated when he died.

I shouldn't feed the troll, but I will say this: Knowing that my 27 year old brother's organs were able to save at least 2 lives (and possibly more) has helped me deal with his untimely death.

On a lighter note... do you realize this shirt creator got ~$71.43 per letter. I don't think lawyers even get that much.

I wonder if he could have pulled off making it look like there were stitches where the heart should be.

I am disappointed in society in general, really.

Unfortunately, I am a man of lesser integrity and character than yourself, and despite my principles to the contrary, somehow find myself tempted by the cleverness of this shirt. As one of the few shirts on this site that quite literally elicited an audible indication of glee, it has a strange power over me.

Additionally it's white, a color which I am in need of.

Hmm, decisions, decisions.

Two things... art without an agenda is happenstance, and Lincoln's on the 5. Hamilton or two of the ol' sixteenth prez would work..doh.

Buy the shirt whether you like it or not, telling people not to put it up there because of their agenda.... IS pushing an agenda.

I will however, push my agenda with out thinking twice.....

I have renal kidney failure ... this means neither of my kidneys function 100%... which mean I need, eventually, somebody to donate a kidney to me.... But the reality of it is, 99% of the people who will buy this shirt, never would. Please take things like this seriously. Be in my position and see how much you argue about it......

So.... buy the shirt, and get on the donor list. !!

I'm not going to get into the politics of the trolling/rebuttals, as I spoke my piece in the Organ Rejection shirt's comments.

However, as a double transplant recipient (kidney/pancreas)I would like to personally thank you and your family (including your brother) for the wonderful gift you provided to complete strangers in need. Every day I think about not taking insulin injections after 24 years of it, and not spending 4 hours of every other day on dialysis, and I owe it to my donor and his family.

Again, thank you!

Things about this that make me sad:

1- I wouldn't be surprised if a woot user actually believed this, given what people buy.

2- If not, your invocation of Comic Sans was made to defend the font as great, which it really isn't, regardless of accuracy. I <3 NY shirts are pretty cancellation and touristy, and the font has come to represent this

3- regardless, you are implying defense of this shirt, which, while mr. staffell has done some definitely respectable work, this particular piece just isn't enough.

Wow, I am surprised by the wooters here who posted such negative thoughts and wishes towards tigerwolf. Would it have made much difference for you if she said it was due to religious beliefs that she was against organ donation? We also don't know what occurred between her husband and herself that resulted in the change of his donor status. And yes, I have watched families pray for a miracle for their child as they laid in the hospital bed to save them. Not to attack or taking sides, but it's an extremely personal decision, and as we have seen here, there are those who are here today due to some stranger and their different belief.

Either way, I am not a fan of white shirts. Not a fan of large text. And I am also disappointed in woot and the posters.

http://www.donatelifenm.org/religiousviews.htm
Well, according to what I read (No, I didn't read the whole thing), most religions either encourage it or say that it should be left up to the individual.
There is no good reason not to donate your organs after your death. Unless you take the Chris Rock view of things and just want to keep them in case science finds a way to bring people back to life. Which is stupid. But it's from a comic, so whatever.
Also, this shirt leaps into the vacuum. I'm buying the MST3K. Nostalgia rules!

Despite being (yes) boring, I still have to appreciate this shirt for the simple fact it made me stop and think for a moment. But that could just be because I'm sleepy.

I think a change in the actual shirt color would have been better, though, over changing the font. It'd still be recognizable yet not as stark.
