Re: Blue Hare Aware-ness
I hate it when old people can't drive... properly.
oldtdevil wrote:This is brilliant and beautiful, but I don't think I can wear a toilet. Sorry.
It's meant as a camping shirt to me. But yeah, it's a great design that prolly wouldn't be that great if you're wearing it in an urban environment. Unless you work for a food conglomerate and want something pithy to wear under the uni. Wonder, would it be just as effective if there were no toilets? IE- would people get it just with the color squares?
geekfactor12 wrote:This is based on the famous Loose Lips Sink Ships poster. Heavily influenced by the fact that I was eating chips and salsa when the derby theme was announced.
Salsa and chips always have my vote! One please!
Re: BAN BRICK HOUSES
I always love your stuff.
Re: It's Rude To Point
Didn't Uncle Sam's mother teach him anything? Sheesh. 4 Colors on white. P.S.: MissKari requested a Omni-style version of this, and I was happy to oblige. His expression turned out kinda apathetic though.
Re: [url=http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=37078]Rule
Thanks! Not only do we need to be prepared, but we need to make sure there isn't a need in the first place. Hopefully no crazy scientists are out there trying to make zombies!
Re: Don't Spread the Pig!
This. Wow. Amazing! And topical!
ressamac wrote:I used Google Translate to translate "communicate kindly" into Russian. It gave me the words you see. Manvyi was kind to inform me that it literally says "intercourse kindly". So that still gives the idea of communication, right? Thank you for your help. theykilledkenny suggested adding "communicate kindly" to the bottom of the design which I did. Thanks! The speech balloon says "xa-xa-xa" which translates as "lol".
Actually it doesn't say that,... it literary says "Communication kindly"... and that at the bottom... whatever it says - it's not in Russian, hun!
Re: A MAN WITH BACON... IS A MAJORITY
Can't wait to see how your second sub turns out!
Re: Loose Dips Sink Chips
Score! They certainly do.
I think it'd be better if it was about double dipping. gross!
Re: Procrastinate
Procrastinators go!

Re: Chew with your mouth closed
Ha! Love it.
Re: It's Just Common Courtesy!
While you may have drawn the elements this looks like a bunch of clip art tossed together not to mention there really isn't a propaganda feel for me.
Cute! too dark for me though...
If it wouldn't be much bother, could you put up a 300x300 or so closeup of the planet? I'm curious whether you used a line-based or dot-based texture (looks like old wood block cuts to me though). Poor planet...
Re: The Apathy Coalition
Nice! Great idea.
Re: Get a Debit Card
This is awesome! Follows the propaganda-art-style perfectly, and it's hilarious!
sailormoontsu wrote:Can't wait to see how your second sub turns out!
Thanks... I am also working on a duck and cover parody.
Re: Don't Go There!
Great shirt!
This is awesome and perfectly on target. The old lady is a bit creepy, but I like it.
this shirt would be epic if you had a more textile decoration in the background, like Obey style.. and then on a red, black, or grey shirt
Misskari wrote:I don't usually play this card, but... Sexist.
You're looking for political correctness in a propaganda derby? Really?? I think this one works very well and I'm not always for foreign language with these but the point is obvious and I love the subtle tip of the hat.
This is most excellent! Also, my mind is blown that you only used 3 colors. That takes skillz!
kyordanova wrote:Actually it doesn't say that,... it literary says "Communication kindly"...
Yes: "intercourse, communication" - either way, it's the noun, not the verb.
Re: Bad Beer Kills Good Parties
Couldn't agree more. This design speaks straight to my heart, and I love the colors.
kyordanova wrote:this will SO get rejected!
The painting is public domain, and the time spent tracing it precludes the possibility of not-enough-effort rejection. As for the whole "recognizable figure" clause it's pretty much up to Woot I guess, I interpreted it as an extension of their regular "no celebrity likeness" clause, and wouldn't apply to a fictionalized personification. I couldn't just make this and not submit it- I obviously hope and think there's no major rejection basis for it but if it does get the axe then c'est la vie.
Re: Papa-ooma-mow-mow
Chris, have you heard that the bird is the word? MEG, EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT THE BIRD IS THE BIRD! Oh well a bird, bird, bird. Buh-bird's the word. Oh well a bird, bird, bird. Buh-bird's the word.
Itsandymann wrote:this shirt would be epic if you had a more textile decoration in the background, like Obey style.. and then on a red, black, or grey shirt
It is epic, classic!
The typography could use a lot of work.
I like it! GMV. I just wish the colors matched the original artwork a bit better.
I'll vote on this tomorrow. ;)
kaseyfleming wrote:OK. I should probably explain. Ragazze is italian for "girls" the text around the border reads. "to do the dishes-to clean up my room-to do the laundry-and in the bathroom" So, if you get that, then the microphones at the bottom should make more sense
I love your shirt!!! Isn't piatti plate? I only ask because my mom is first generation Italian, and I don't know much, but from what I know, I thought I was correct. Or are they interchangeable? I swear, I must find a way to get this shirt.
Re: Stinkaphant
Just me being silly.
Misskari wrote:The typography could use a lot of work.
Agreed. Perhaps all CAPS? A more block-like font?
Re: No We Can't
I just imagine trying to be a stay-at-home dad and it freaks me out. Parody of the "We Can Do It" poster encouraging the women to do what were traditionally men's jobs while the men were overseas during WWII.
YEAH!!! I wanna wear this to the grocery store.
I really like the other version better. Especially the text.
