Congrats, JW!!! Nice to see this one win.

This shirt also makes me thankful I don't have children. :D

I don't know what the dad is pointing out, but I see a wicked-cool roller coaster in the background.

That's the only thing dad could point out? A tree? The only thing worth noting? What kind of Park is that?

I've seen this before.

Was this submitted to a previous derby? Or was it printed before? I think I saw it here on Woot.

Pretty funny...at least there's not a bear on this one!

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Yes.

Dad likes Trees. The kid likes his PSP. Maybe they can just compromise and ride that tall roller coaster back there.

It's funny how all three entries this weekend were from the National Parks derby.

PLEASE tell me that's a joke!

It was in the Do-Over Derby this last week. It was a piece that was in the National Parks Derby a few weeks ago and didn't make it to printing... you know, just in case it wasn't a joke question.

I think this shirt would have been a lot more effective without the "Fun vacations" line and the "Look son, a tree!" They make the joke seem forced.

I agree. The art's well done, but it seems cheapened a bit by the text.

I'm not the artist, but I'm pretty sure the "roller coaster" is really just abstract mountains.

Explanation: The Nat'l Parks derby not only had some of the best design entries but it was also one of the more creative/original derby premises by shirt.woot!

while I think this is far and away the best of the three printing this weekend (actual humor and a solid style is soooo nice to see here), I feel as though the fact that woot has now printed a whole six shirts based on National Parks is yet another reason woot needs to reconsider its methods of deciding prints.

I really like the "Look son, a tree!" line. But the vacations line at the bottom is a problem for me. Without it, each person's point is being made, and it's left at that. With it, I'm not even sure what point is trying to be made.

I agree, I was thinking of buying it but the "Fun vacations" line made it almost seem anti-National Parks. Without the line, it creates sympathy for the Parks.

Draug misses the point

Draug frequently misses the point. Draug apologizes for failing to hit said point.

I completely agree. I don't have as much a problem with the "Look son" part...the fact that he's pointing out a tree makes the design funnier. I think it could have been a more effective shirt, though, if the dad was maybe pointing out something other than a tree...limiting it to a tree makes the parks seem boring in comparison with the video game...which seems to be the opposite of what the shirt is trying to say.

I could do without the vacations line, but, "Look son, a tree!" is perfect!

I'm so glad this is being printed.

Ugh not this shirt... If I wanted a stereotypical graphic tee I would go to walmart.

dad - "Look Son a poorly made tee shirt!"
son - unamused.

I completely agree that there is no need for the type at the bottom of the layout. The "Look Son, A Tree" quote is the best possible thing I could think of for the dad to say, but still, that isn't needed. Less is more. Unless you're making Caligula. Wait, even then.
