Re: The RAWKatiels
Yep, this is awesome.
This needs more votes!! +1
Re: Here's a Tall Bird
That background just ties it all together doesn't it? Cool shirt.
Re: Rockin Robin
Besides the amazing artistry, I think my favorite part is the smiling cloud on the left
Love it, there is no way this wouldn't get my vote so there you go, +1!
voted again, Alex :D gotta support someone who only outputs quality everytime he submits somewhere!
Re: powered by coffee
I am not enough of a fan of owls nor coffee to need two owl-coffee shirts, but the colors and style here are very classy. Probably not something I'd pick for the top 3, but certainly something I wouldn't object to seeing there if it happened.
xazothia wrote:If this is a MOTHER 3 reference, it's not allowed. ;) shhh!
I like the simplicity of it.
I think it'd be pretty obvious that this was not intended as, nor could it be easily mistaken for, a Mother 3 reference. But then again, Woot has enforced that clause in sillier ways before...
really enjoying the M. C. Escher feel
Re: Delusions of Grandeur
That bird and worm are crazy-well shaded/textured. Wildly awesome graphic!
KaylaJ wrote:reminds me of the homer simpson's crayon xray with the colors
Used that as a reference for the colors actually, it's tricky making stuff look like an x-ray, this is my first attempt ever
Here's hoping this splendid design makes a run. It seems like the kind of design that would thrive on Threadless.
Re: Flight of the Great Horned Owl (resub)
Damn nice, even though I agree with Adder on the halftones. Maybe if you had crosshatched it, it would blend a little better.
Nevertheless, it is awesome and gmv. =]
Re: The Original Recycler
I really hope this prints. It's been a while since I liked a shirt this much. GMV.
This is really beautiful. It's deceptively simple, and quite intriguing.
Re: Happy BIRDay!
I really admire your work work and the different approaches you take for each derby. I hate to see you resort to Ramy/Seki-like scaffolding because this bears a lot of resemblance to Campfire Tales; more than I'd like.
Re: Night Owl
this is too cute, i love it
Re: A Vigilant Pair
Yay owls :D
I kind of laughed at how the shirt is modeled, but its a great shirt anyways.
thnk you guys!!!! you know I got all but love for everyone :D!!!
Very nice! I was hoping for some red when I saw the line art, and I love the touches on her dress. GMV.
Re: Predator (v2!)
I worked on the bird a bit more, hopefully you'll find it improved from the original. Thanks to everyone who supported the first submission of this design, and thanks for viewing the new one
Anyway, this design took forever to finish, and I hope you like the outcome

AdderXYU wrote:There's actually some really nice stuff going on in these smoke trails... if you plan on doing anything further with it, I'd suggest taking the time to make the eagle-jet feel as complete as they are. Right now it feels really flat and MSPaint-y
thanks for the input, adderxyu. i upped the dete's in the jet. check it out.
soo cool, definitely gmv... will say I'd probably rather have it as an art print than a shirt though...
edgar i'd totally buy a book of your illustrations!
icymallard wrote:wait u mean he didnt draw the background himself?
odds are he pulled the vector pack off deviantart or those are some photo shop brushes. this is based of my knowledge of ramyb's previous art efforts which seem to stick to either extreme "kawaii" anime style like seki or to a more realistic anime style (hello kitty versus miyazaki if you will). i know ramyb can do realism too but i think vector is outside his skill set.
No offense intended ramyb. we all have limitations.
not nearly as cool as the macrame owl my grandma made ... but that's a hard one to beat
now those are adorable
EmoryCash wrote:gary larson may call you.
Amen. I wondered if anyone would call foul on this.

wow the wings look much improved.
(now my only quibble is the bird's tail though i can't place why)
no worries adder ought to be around soon...
hewtab wrote:this is too cute, i love it
Thank you! *blushes*
i really loved this the first time around, and still do. reminds me of the goodfeathers, which is awesome.
this is definitely one of my favorite designs from you!
the flying one on the left looks so awesome. great work on the tail, and the pose of the flaming one!
Re: Big Jerk
Absolutely great color choices. Perfect for a shirt.
Re: Penguins and Waffles, Together at Last
fantastic work, two of my favorite things!
[quote postid="3665344" user="odysseyroc"]This is a great idea and drawing. The perspective really pushes this one to a whole new level.
"Great idea?" Yeah, but for someone else. This isn't the first rip-off to come through this site.
"Whole new level?" You people wouldn't know originality if it was crapping on the hood of your hybrid.
Get out of the house once in awhile, and pick up a book--something BESIDES manga. Something that actually has merit.
I really like this and am voting for it, I just wish the tree bottoms weren't so sharp edged.
Pretty! I like the flow too.
I know there are a lot of owl submissions... I already had this made up before a bunch got posted. I tried a more stylized look... although there are some awesome submissions as usual!
