I, too, would be confused if I had suddenly woken up and found myself both traveling on a flying bed, and that I was an anthropomorphic cat.

Which actually sounds pretty awesome. Till the hairballs start coming up.

usually not a fan of the video game references. this one however is a fine one. If things go right. I may have to buy two shirts next week. gmv

Re: Exposed Plumbing

I just wanted to be the first to say "THANK YOU" for not exposing Mario's likely stereotypical "plumber's crack". I have the feeling that I'm speaking for the majority here. ^_^

I agree, this would have fit much better in the naughty/nice derby.

Not really on-topic, but as is ramy's usual m.o., it's topic-tagential.

I don't see the point in arguing anymore. It's going to get printed unless woot decides to reject it.

Our Movie Genre... the video of PAJAMA WARRIOR was too damn good! That you were part of it is too cool! And I can see in this shirt why you were part of it!

I think if you really wanted to make a shirt for this Derby on this basis, you should have made Death riding an actual pale horse and made it look terrifying. That's why it's not really on-topic. It's not nightmarish. It's cute.

One thing I'll say about this is that I didn't get that it was a video game reference until someone pointed it out (via comment) and I took a second look. That's how non-blatant it is! In that the artwork is superb and the reference sublime. GMV

Like the idea!

However..

Shouldnt the teddy bear be next to the girl, not at her feet?

And it seems like she should be sleeping the other way, since usually beds have the headboard against a wall...

I've been a woot user for over a year, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to vote in the derby. I love this image. Thanks for taking the time to create this.

This looks bastardly awesome! I really like the Goya inspiration for I enjoyed looking at his art work when I was in Madrid. I'd surely get one if it wins. Good luck!

Re: The Sleep of Reason Produces Flying Turtles

My first thought wasn't Mario but de Goya, I had to take a closer look. Although it's a video game reference it's a classy one rather than a dorky one. Excellent all around. I hope it prints.

I grew up wanting to be an animator and character designer. I fall down in worship... m(-_-)m

Great short film, I can see your personal character touches! The monsters have some features that are very much your style. I love monster designs <3.

Can't wait to buy this one!!!!!

True and I knew I'd get flak for this but I think I have a fairly strong body of work without video game references. I do use pop culture occasionally but it's a fraction of all the subs I've done. If you don't like it though I understand

I don't know, maybe it is the horse's nightmare. Afterall, his pretty little happy playground world is falling apart all around him. Even his little flowers are dying.

Only thing i really dont like is the chair, it seems off, compared to how he is sitting to the dest he looks, ackward, if that was fixed I think it would be a terrific shirt.

Re: crush

I'm not really liking the color scheme on this one. It makes the design look a bit too dull. I think a better coloring scheme and more detailed illustrations would do this idea much more justice.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not attacking the design or anything, just providing some constructive criticism.

Anyways, as far as I know this is a rare fog for you so good luck!

Re: Exposed Plumbing

Admittedly, the number of Mario references(in reference to video-game references in general) in this derby is worrisome, in that I'm hoping it doesn't lead to a permanent ban on them...Though, I certainly can't fault you for referencing it as well. Just happened to be that there were a bunch of Mario references this derby.

That being said, this is really quite fantastic. The facial expressions on each character is great(especially like the slightly varied facial expression of each Goomba). My only complaint, however minor, would be the direction which Peach is pointing at(presuming she's pointing at Mario)...To me, at least, it looks more like she's pointing at something on Bowser's back that Mario...Still, just a minor thing. Otherwise, again, fantastic work.

And, quite agreed, Bandrik.
