First thing I'd thought of:



If you translate the English theme song from Star Blazers using Google translate to Zulu, then to French, then back to English...the entire song is a palindrome.

A strange turn of events brought me here, Woot. And were I not so sadly strapped for cash right now, I would buy the shirt, not only for the art but the text.
How oddly specific. Thanks. It made my night better. I'm going to try and scrounge the cash for this shirt.

this is nice and all, but way too shiny for me. just...really would never wear it. Honestly was hoping for a draxx and tgentry. I'd have gone over budget if it'd been the ones I wanted anyway..so better for me.

but still, congratulations on the print; seems a lot of people happy over it.

Unlike most shirts where the shiny-pejorative is aimed, this is a case where the light is integrated as part of the design, rather than just bathing everything in a sickly glow. Not to sound corny, but it genuinely looks like it's shining and shimmering, like something does in the distance. That's a very, very good thing.


I should add, I'm currently reading "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" (again, though it doesn't get old) for a class. This shirt would go wonderfully with that discussion. It's a rare shirt that actually captures the spirit of journey-centric poetry, like Coleridge's, or the Frost line woot quoted.

I really want this shirt, but I've bought so many Woot shirts lately...

It looks like someone went to town with a white-out pen (not necessarily a bad thing).

I'm liking that theres a general air of surprise to lots of the comments. Me too! Was not expecting to see this today.

And in 2nd place too. I've been chasing 2nd place for my entire time on woot. Got 1st and 3rd, but never that elusive 2nd. Ha. Finally he's mine! Thanks so much for voting everyone.

As far as the story, I just wanted to portray an epic journey of some kind. I was going more for a feeling than a definite story, so whatever it looks like to you, that might be what it is. I thought the palindrome had such a cool sound to it, one of adventure and such, so I was trying to get that feeling across in the design.

Looks like the write up people got it and can actually say it a lot better than I can. Really good one!

Great job. I really like all of your different styles and you always come up with something new each week.

This shirt reminds me of a part on Reboot. Go to about the 4:25 part of the clip in the link below and you will see what I mean. It is probably just me that sees the resemblance, but I am odd like that.
