ksapp82 wrote:You do know that the change is now wrong. The handle should be with the hole. So if the handle is turned up the liquid should be following out and you wouldn't see the hole.

I don't mean to be critical, but I thought I would mention it.

I'm fairly sure the change is correct (see the small photo I posted, not the main design comp above). With the sep funnel handle horizontal, the hole would be as well. Although it has been around 8 years since I set foot in an organic chemistry lab, and I'll admit I'm a little rusty.

Perhaps there are brands where the handle and hole are on a different axis?

Thanks for your comment, though

I don't understand why this hasn't gotten more love. One of my favorites the first time it derbied, one of my favorites this time too.

Hopefully it will be an EC but there are a lot of great shirts to choose from. Woot seems to like weirdness like this so maybe there's a chance!

I will try to get this printed one way or another. I promise anyone who has seen it here and truly enjoys it. If people want to be updated about where it goes from here, just send me a private message with an email and I'll let you know. Because I highly doubt it's a real contender for an EC.

Oohp! No placement for Mr. Kittypants.

Oh well, go everybody else, go! :D

If anyone would like to be kept up to date on this design, just drop me a pm after the derby. Thanks so much to everyone for their support!

I hear you on the number of great shirts out there. I doubt this will EC, but if anyone would like to be kept up to date on it, send me a pm. The rights should revert back to me soon, so I may try another venue . Thanks so much for your support!

Omelets made great am i rooting for this one. It's such a cool looking design and I love the expression on the whale's face. The composition is really nice too.

Thanks chennai8... I'd like to do more experimenting with styles like this in the future... but it can take a while - this one was quite a process... so it's harder to get ready in derby-time. But I will make a point to try similar styles when a design seems to fit and I have the time... thanks!

Thanks DJFP. Awesome song, awesome band! Oh well.
Here's hoping the woot staff has a soft spot for Heart and/or ocean creatures;)

JadenKale wrote:The problem with this is that people still don't get that point. I'm regularly finding pieces at sites just after the woot derby finishes up. Perhaps woot should put a huge blinking banner up on the upload page that says "Yeah, even if you don't get chosen for a double-take HM, you STILL can't post this elsewhere for 60 days" I've caught this at Threadless, Teefury, DBH, Tilteed, Goodjoe and a host of smaller, more obscure sites.

That, or, I don't know... start layin' the smackdown.

You know, that's not a bad idea at all. I've been thinking of submitting a few designs, and went over the unofficial rules page, but wasn't aware of this particular rule myself until now.

My New Year's Resolution was to buy NO T-SHIRTS in 2010. This one might break it.

While I think that "A Book" should be eliminated, still like it enough to pull the trigger.

Re: Read A Book

Everyone (well, maybe not everyone) keeps saying that the shirt would be better without "a book", but the composition of the shirt would be shot without it. Just a square box with no depth. The words are a major design element and it wouldn't have the same impact without it. Just my opinion, of course.
