I concur. I would pick this up in a heartbeat if it were cursive and/or gray.

I remember that gray, wide ruled paper. It really does make you wonder if kids still have to go through these exercises, and if cursive is still taught. Ah, memories.

2) Why are all the lines different lengths? What kind of paper is this that the lines don't match up?

3) Why does only 'lol' have the 'how-to-draw' part? Are 'waffles? they're fine' and 'Omelets made great' not good enough for this artist or was the artist just too lazy?

This shirt is just way too boring and pointless for me.

I agree on all points except the 3rd. If you remember those worksheets from childhood, only the 1st line had a tracer, so in that sense its correct. This shirt is disappointing on all accounts though. Not funny or clever.

To all the white shirt haters: I hear ya. I can't keep 'em clean, and I don't much like what they look like on me. But when I see a white woot shirt that I really really dig, I'll buy it in a larger size than I usually buy and wear it to sleep in or lounge around the house. I also like wearing big woot white shirts when I mow my lawn. I hate mowing my lawn, wearing the shirt makes me happy, so it all kinda evens out.

I hadn't thought of that. To me, it's more about the very obvious irony of letter formation - which only occurs in WRITING, not texting or typing of any sort - is used on a shirt that's supposed to be about texting/netspeak.

It's sad that because since I now type so much more than I write, my already atrocious handwriting has become even more illegible. More than half the time, I can't read my own handwriting! It probably doesn't help that I got my first computer at age 7.

Although, I find myself saying L-O-L aloud now and again. The others I have never said abbreviated, but 'lowel' - probably a couple times a month. *hides*

I also say 'FAIL' on a near-daily basis. Clearly, I spend far too much time online.

Perhaps the message is that if people continue to text in this fashion, written language will devolve to match that.

Perhaps it's just a shirt.

That may be the perfect use for this shirt as it would take care of the color problem, since my memory is that it should be dingy gray, and it might add the chunks of wood that I always found floating in the sea of gray.

I think this shirt is honestly trying to be funny, but it's too scary-true to be funny. Anyone who would lol at this shirt is clearly unaware of the disservice that irresponsible use of text messaging has done for our society... Oh the irony!
And by wearing this shirt you will be making it worse.

Anyone else remember thelittle pictures that used go along with each line that showed the "tall" letters, like "l", reaching up into the sky, while the "short" letters, like "o", stayed grounded?

I wish this shirt had those pictures, they were an integral part of my learning-to-write experience.

Really would like to have for my 5 year old daughter since she is currently learning to write with this paper.

Not appropriate though due to "waffles? they're fine". I am surprised they printed in the Yough sizes. I don't mind her wearing communist dinosaurs but this is too much for school.

Don't know about all of us, but I definitely write mine clockwise... But why not have them for lefties as well? [inserts rousing speech about the overcoming of trials and tribulations by the left-handed of the species, how many lefties are killed or horrifically maimed by right-handed implements in this "handist" society, and little Billy at your local elementary school who just wants to have a chance to use a pair of safety scissors to cut out a turkey in the shape of his hand without cutting off the thumb ::sniffle::] Remember, only you can help poor little Billy in his quest for equality in elementary school supplies. Won't someone please help him?? ;-)

Anyway...

In my day, after walking to school uphill both ways, we got to practice this stuff on gray paper the consistency of newsprint.

Actually, in teaching my children handwriting, I learned that you should make your "o"'s in a counter-clockwise motion so that you are trained for the backwards loops in cursive writing.
