I went really basic with this, though my original intention was to use more muted tones - sepia-like - on cream. Give it that historic feel, right? Anyway, (no)apologies for mixing pop culture references, but the mashup came to mind and seemed to work.

There's something about the monkey's face that bothers me, but other than that I really like the design.

My first thought when I saw this as well. Cool illustration but this was just something already drawn that he slapped DEVO on and submitted.

Thank you for the critique. Integrating the logo was not as important to me as creating a design that fit the theme of this derby. However, I do appreciate the compliment.

The design doesn't HAVE to be entirely about the DEVO brand, the derby them is De-evolution and the brand has to be included somewhere/anywhere on it. Woot staff even encouraged making a de-evolution design and then tagging it with the DEVO logo.

I clearly get a de-evolution vibe from a man willingly completely dependent on machines to "live" and appreciate that the logo is integrated into the design (the only visible monitor) and not just the title at the top or bottom.

I think this is great, I love the message, I love the colors and dark theme.

I really hope it prints somehow!

I figured nothing signifies de-evolution more than DNA unraveling... Was going to put the design on the side, but the more I looked at it, the more it seemed destined to be a faux tie.

Okay, I admit I'm not much of a LOST fan, but my wife is a raving one. So I did this design for her. She approved.

Modeled after the Dharma Initiative logo, complete with whip instead of the snake. Hope you like.
