Shame it had to be on white, I really wanted this one.

What ever happened to subtlety and insightful, witty satire?

This is a little too on the nose for me. This would have been genius in 1920. Today, it's practically too mainstream to even be mainstream.

I see what you're trying to say, but again, I think there's a depth/perspective issue. I did understand that the POV is from a higher elevation, and that's actually the problem as I see it. The view through the tire is completely white, and we all know that swings are only a foot or two above the ground (so that your feet can still touch the ground). Since it's viewed from above, the view through the tire should have been gray, indicating it was very close to the tree. That, in part, is the problem with the perspective to me.

I was trying to be a little bit funny, but I was also being serious. I think there's a perspective issue, and I was trying to provide constructive criticism. That's why I was comparing frame 1 to frames 2 and 3, the issue (my issue) is that there isn't a consistency between them. My brain equals that out to tiny horse in frame 1, but others might focus on the view through the tire or the size of the roots in the other frames. Basically, overlay the first three frames so you see the biggest tree, the tire swing and the horse/covered wagon, then see what you think of the perspective.

I really do like the design, it's just that my brain focuses in on these kinds of things...especially when they're all in a row begging to be compared. But I've got to tell you, I couldn't come anywhere close to doing what you do. I don't have the artistic skills. I do have the sense of depth and perspective though.

I absolutely LOVE this design, but I just don't wear white shirts. So sad.

This is glorious.

Great staging. It's very bleak compared to Devo's music, even the first three panels have a melancholy feeling, but it's a handsome shirt.

I imagine a lot of people will be unwittingly promoting the band with this, so everybody wins. ^_^

Actually, the Oregon Trail game used oxen to pull the wagon and not horses. That is clearly a horse on the design.

I would like it more without the DEVO on it but I am still in for one. I love the design.

High technology does not necessarily equate to a higher plane of evolution. Perhaps the rate of progress in our technology vs. the relatively slow or non-existent progress in our morals makes it look like we are digressing or devolving ?

Most chimps can be trained to operate technology.

Love love love this shirt! What an enormous pity this is a white shirt. Any other color would have been fine, but white is a no go for me.

the horse and wagon in the first frame is not even close to the correct scale and is very distracting, poor art..boo hiss!

i like it.. except for the fact that it says "DEVO" on the bottom.. oh well. guess i have enough shirts anyway.

A lot pf people seem put off by the horse and wagon in the first panel. As far as perspective is concerned, its beyond the small hill with the tree on it, not even a mile away.

I think the scale and the perspective is fine considering all you have have to judge with is some line art and shades of gray.

You could ask the same about emo's and goth and what they were. Personally I just don't get the appeal of this shirt at all. Nothing wrong with the art or anything, I personally just find it rather dull. I guess I just don't like wearing on my body how miserable I think things are in the world.

Congrats, but I'm a little surprised at the vote total - lowest first place (which this would have been had Devo not chosen it themselves) in a long time.

Devolution doesn't exist. Nothing says that to evolve, one mus necessarily become more complex.

Well, I sure hope you're right! I'm actually a programmer but I can't think why either cmdixon2's or my shirt would show up with vote totals when they had fixed that bug some months ago when they first put in the 9-shirt fog? They must have some sloppy code over there...

I'm a big fan of nuclear holocaust, but not so much a fan of Devo and white shirts. Think I'll pass on this one. Almost got it too.

I have a lot of programmer friends who regularly shake their heads at the code around here ^^;. Thankfully I am blissfully ignorant of it all.

This actually isn't about today's shirt. But I was curious if anyone was as disappointed by the entries so far in the Shakespeare derby as I am. Generally there are so many good shirts that some of my favorites don't even make it to the fog. But this time I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the designs. Just so disappointing.

I agree the devo thing seems out of place, like I'm unknowingly advertising some brand. Would have bought this shirt otherwise =/
