I really really like this. I agree with PP. It's got the same eerie feeling as the original.

Re: Mucha's Zodiac RESUB

Due to continuos feedback regarding my layout, I changed the location of the image on the shirt. Now centered.

I'll leave the old one up for a little bit longer, but it will probably be deleted tonight.

Thanks again all for the feedback. Much appreciated.

Re: Michelangelo's David

My problem isn't with its resemblance to anything else--it's with its use of a title-that-isn't. The statue's title, I'm pretty sure, is just David, so making the joke has made the shirt off-topic.

Same as others. Like the design and idea, hate the background and halftones. I'm hoping you resubmit it.

well thank you. I was unsure whether I should include a moon or not... in the end I really liked this version best.

Hi!

If you enjoy this shirt, but could do without the movie reference murderer, or simply hate the murderer in there, then please vote for this one:

I feel like a lot of people are having a hard time understanding this theme.

I second all of the above. Nothing wrong with the placement in and of itself, but I personally can't wear it, although I like it.

I love this! And like most good ideas I wish I'd thought of it first. I do wish the signal looked a bit more like Don Quixote and less like Batman.

Re: For the Love of God

Doesn't seem to be a reinterpretation of the title, and the photo(s) is (are) likely to get it rejected even if Woot fails to police the theme this week.

You turned an awful work of art into a pretty rad t-shirt. I own too many shirts in this color but I'd buy it anyway.

Re: The Persistence of Memory

The explosion looks like a photo; is it? If so, Woot might reject this, unless you can prove you took the photo.

Actually, looks as if the statue might be a photo too.

Regarding the similarity of "The Beast Sleeps" outside of the very general similarity of Robots and Plants, the idea being conveyed is completely different, I don't quite see how it could fall under the idea of similarity unless you really want to nit-pick about even the most generic ideas.

As for Energy Harvester, I one can easily draw similarities, but at the same time, I think it comes down to the intent of what the image is trying to say, and once again one could pick out two different themes.

I do think that some people throw out the "Similar Shirts Exist" argument just a tad too quickly, especially when it's on such a broad idea that we have seen all over the place. Many of these ideas have been done before, many of these ideas have been thought up before by countless others, what makes two similar looking ideas stand out from one another is the overall message that the image is trying to convey, and even similar images can be worlds apart, which is what I see between this shirt and the previous two shirts mentioned.

If we only go for the most original ideas possible, every shirt here will become esoteric. The idea here is to not only create cool shirts that people want to wear, but you gotta make them with ideas that people understand. The "Similar Shirt Exists" cry is good when you have a design that both looks the same as another shirt, and conveys the same idea of that shirt.
