Congrats on the sellout tjost! I predict this will be a mainstay on the charts for many, many weeks to come.

I hate that I'm back in school. I've been waiting weeks to buy my second cool woot shirt for $10 (really, I wanted to pay five with a coupon I just got in my inbox, momma raised me cheap). I come home today and finally see a shirt I like, but alas, sold out.
Maybe I'll get it tomorrow. maybe.

This is just their way of revenge. If you indulge in a high meat diet you increase your risk for colon cancer (red meats), heart disease, obesity and so on. Oh, they are sneaky!

A high meat diet is much better for you than the high carb/sugar diet that most Americans are on.

And I'm not just talking about soda and candy, it's the bread, the pasta, the white flour that we've been told is healthy.

Sorry I'm a low carber, I get annoyed when people believe the food pyramid. Our species evolved in to what it is now by eating the brains and livers of animals.

More plants go into producing a pound of meat than go into producing a pound of vegetables. So by eating a piece of meat, you're actually indirectly contributing to the deaths of many, many more plants than if you had just eaten some vegetables.

Save the plants and the animals: just eat candy.

No, that sounds about right.

Brave stance to take. Since you'll likely be attacked/degraded/belittled by those who enjoy anonymously arguing on the internet, I just wanted you to know that I agree with the sentiment behind your statement.

Why do I get the feeling a comic-strip style action sequence of a sick and terrified cow being mercilessly kicked and shoved through a building, then being systematically disassembled while still alive, with speech bubbles of screams for her life, and a caption "Eat More Vegetables" wouldn't have sold out as fast? It's not funny the other way around.

Sugar is extracted from the sugar beet, whose latin name is Beta vulgaris because of the loud, obnoxious swearing that emanates from the plant during the extraction phase. The beet can get so angry during the extraction phase that it turns purple.

Eating candy is just another form of herbicide. Nice try though.

I'm in the same boat. I have one shirt already and wanted to buy my next one with the coupon also, lol. Despite my cheapness, I'll still probably buy it.

SpANG wrote:Yeah, yeah. We all know that. Here's the thing: This isn't a physically stocked item like a Roomba or Leak Frog. Woot purposefully makes fictitious "thresholds" for shirts that haven't even been printed yet when it would be easy to just let them sell and sell and sell for the whole day.

It's about creating the demand, shorting it, and then selling it for more (than it's worth, IMO) later. It's Woot's personal "Black-Friday" formula.

I fully support however it is that Woot is able to put up a new high-quality t-shirt with a great designer's image on it every 24 hours for a measly $10. If they can make scads of money (or even a little) doing so, so much the better.

My only complaint comes when it regularly happens that the new daily shirt isn't even up for 12 hours. This one was particularly ridiculous, in that it wasn't even up for 8 hours (as far as I can tell). When this is happening a lot, as it is lately, I don't think it's too much to ask that they consider raising the 3000-shirts-til-sellout limit. Especially for first-place derby winners. And especially because they could easily say 'no sellouts until noon' or something like that and it wouldn't really hurt anyone (and might even raise overall sales).

I have no problem with Woot making money off their winning idea. I think Woot is great. I am a little disappointed that they are obviously becoming a lot more popular and aren't really doing anything to compensate for that fact.

I'm very tempted to buy this for my niece, just to spite my sister. She practically crams down our throats that we should be eating less meat and eating all organic blah blah blah, then she goes out and buys a fast-food hamburger because she was craving it.

In other words, she's a vegetarian only when she wants to be one.

Did anyone else buy a WM in this one and notice that the orange appears slightly skewed (squashed/oval-ish shaped)? I know, it's a minor detail, but small things like this can bother me. Once I notice it, I can't help but focus on it. Kinda bums me out because this is one of my favorite Woot shirts. :-( My husband owns this same shirt in a mens Large, and this is not so on his. The orange appears perfectly round as intended on the Large.

Maybe mine is just defective? My orange looks like he has a pointy chin! The rest of the shirt looks fine though.

If it's that deformed, I'd suggest taking some very good, very clear pictures of your shirt (maybe with your husband's shirt next to it in a couple of pics for comparison) and email links to the pictures to service@woot.com, along with your user name, order number, and a description of your problem. If service determines that your shirt was misprinted, they generally will either send you a new shirt or refund you the money, depending on the circumstances. If they tell you it's fine, then.... you have a pointy-chinned orange on your tshirt!

Thanks goldenthorn, I had no idea Woot would do that. :-) Although I have a feeling they will probably consider it minor enough not to bother... But I will take some pics and try my luck! Hopefully not all of the WM are skewed and it's just mine.

Yeah what happens with that is they probably had too much glue on the shirt board and when they pulled it off it deformed the orange. If woot doesn't exchange/refund it then you can try to pull it out but then may end up with an even weider lump/bulge where the fabric is all stretched out. Sorry about that, it happens from time to time in screen printing. Thanks for the support on this though

Thanks for the insight tjost. :-) I don't know much about the t-shirt printing process... Good news is I emailed pics to Woot and they are sending me a replacement! Excellent customer service!

Wonderful design by the way, definately one of my top favorites in my closet. I look forward to more of your work in the future!

Oh, no. Overseas shipping should be at the least a month. Really. If you haven't gotten your tshirt(s) in a 4-5 week time frame, I'd maybe start worrying then. It generally takes anywhere between 1-4 weeks for shipping within the U.S., so, from what I've read, one should tack on about 1-2 weeks for international shipping (thus, 3-6 weeks for international). Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but that is my impression according to (vaguely recalled) forum feedback from international buyers.
Though, I do hasten to remind: shirt.woot does say that shipping can take "5-100 business days." So, uhhh, reasonable patience, good customer!

A woot addiction isn't necessarily a bad thing! That green is actually my all around favorite color, so I just had to have it.

tjost, I love you.
I mean, your shirt designs, it is your shirt designs I love. Right.
This shirt is my first woot, I await its arrival in the post. I bought it with a mere $20.17 in my bank account. That's right, I spent 10 of my last 20 dollars buying this shirt. With my next paycheck I shall purchase The Binge.

...Marry me?
