This is why we don't buy from WOOT anymore. You might as well change the name of the site to cutesy-Japanese-animation-everybody-stacks the-voting-big-eyed panda-craptastic-so-sweet-I-need-dialysis-always-the-same-old-$h!t.com.

This site used to print cool stuff; now it blows.

I love this logic. "Stop printing those shirts that so many people buy and print one that I like!"

If Shirt.Woot "always" prints "crap like this" and it's "overloaded with cutesy dreck," go somewhere else and buy one of the thought-provoking hipster shirts you seek.

You are basically screaming at the McDonald's because you want egg rolls. Guess what? People go to McDonald's for burgers, not egg rolls. Just like people go to Shirt.Woot for cutesy shirts. It's what they sell.

Darquis wrote:Oh, you're in kindergarten? Well that explains why you don't know that you should be polite to others.

Anyway, I think the point that both you and the person you quoted are missing is twofold.

1) The point of Editor's Choice *should* be to print a cool shirt from the derby which didn't get a chance. Sales should be a secondary concern

2) Even if sales were a concern - no one is infallible. This shirt sold out. The other three editor's choices did not. But NightLife, from the Cities derby, has outsold in 3 days the shirt Bad Directions ( http://shirt.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=4031887 ) which took third and was on the charts for at least a week longer than Night Life has been available. And the voters chose that - hell that shirt had more votes than it did sales.

I didn't say a thing about sales. The OP stated...

"Really? How many of the EC's sold out? Zero?
Why not Lord MacBeth or Magic Ride or Bird In Space?I would have purchased any or all 3 had they printed."

My point is that taking the editors to task based on the mere fact they didn't pick shirts he would have bought is a completely immature and self-centered view.

Oh no! I've waited forever for this shirt, and when it's finally printed, I don't get a chance to see it until it's sold out! Sadness overload.

No, the point is, woot sells some incredibly awe-some shirts along with a few "cute" shirts, but after an entire Kawaii derby, when two out of four EC shirts are "cute," some people get rather fed up. I completely agree with IgnatiusRiley. "Cuteness" has really gone too far.

This shirt will be for sale again starting tomorrow--here--at $15. ALL shirts continue to be sold after the first day. A shirt will remain for sale (at $15) until reckoned.

To find out what shirts are available for sale on any given day--other than the obvious "shirt of the day" on the front shirt.woot page--please click on the "reckoning" link found in the top right corner of any shirt.woot page. All the shirt thumbnails in the reckoning are shirts that are still for sale. Click on the thumbnail or title and you will be taken to the shirt's order page.

You stated "And with your mighty three-shirt-purchasing-power, woot! would make a killing. I really hope you're kidding. "

Indicating that the reason woot picks EC shirts is in order to move a high volume.

I'm sorry, that doesn't really apply. If Editor's Choice was about moving shirts then woot would just print a bunch of crap from...I'm not gonna name names because this isn't about slagging artists - but I'm sure those who are here often can guess who I mean. The idea is supposed to be to feature cool shirts which maybe didn't get their moment in the sun. Four shirts in seven days from one specific derby, loaded with the typical "sells a lot" doesn't really jive.

Also, painting people who dislike this shirt as being hipsters and whatever isn't true at all. I'm currently sporting O'Rlyeh (the Cthulu/homeskizzleens mashup by Drakxxx and Crescent Debris) - yesterday was Blue Moon, before that The Last Day, and tomorrow will probably be Chance of Scattered Showers. Aside from apparently showing that I like Chris' designs more than I thought (I had no idea either of those were his work) I think this easily demonstrates that not all of us who don't care for cute (or this particular brand of) are hipsters trying to be witty.

And if all woot does is sell shirts that sell bundles and print cute stuff, I defy you to explain ISO SWM, Zombee, Bigfoot Research Institute, etc. What's really happening is people are trying to order a chicken sandwich at McDonalds but all they have available is the Big Mac.

the problem is woot used to be otterific and sell prime steaks... but they've recently turned into "mcdonald's". I just noticed that I've bought 100+ shirts since 2006... but probably like 1 in the past year since woot transformed into crap.woot.... teefury is pretty cool now... and tanga has some good shirts occasionally if anyone's lookin for alternatives.... well until woot comes back..............

Anyone else think the "happy" music note on the far right side of the graphic is a little more creepy than cute?

And yet once again it was in response to the OP's statement regarding buying three shirts. There's a difference between starting an issue and responding to it. Whatever. Everybody continue your whining because the woot editors don't share your tastes. Christ, this is getting old really fast.

Thanks lucky1988, BootsBoots and CrescentDebris! I was amazed to see it sell out, especially so fast.

A *lot* of people try to click the okay button when they see it on screen... I wonder if that'll happen with the shirt? I guess I should apologize in advance for any poking related injuries. -_^

"I didn't say a thing about sales."

Whether or not you initiated or responded, to say that you didn't talk about sales is a lie. But this is getting a bit pedantic now.

I figured out why there's so many cute shirts this time. It's to purge the reckoning. I think you know what I mean.

After buying different woot shirts for myself and my 4 year old son, I finally see one perfect for a little girl. I ordered a K4 for my daughter to wear now and a K6 for later. This is my second purchase for my 2 year old -first being "Watercolors".

I'm really thinking of buying this. I just found the site yesterday and bought the wizard of oz shirt. I'd like to wait until I get the first one in before getting another, but hm.... it's just so cute and girly too. I think it should have said overload instead of overflow, though, since the box is for a computer error. But anyway, I still want it

I have this shirt and wore it to Cedar Point amusement park. I got a lot of compliments although I did get a creepy old man with one tooth staring at it. He actually reached out and almost touched the snail, my husband was ready to smack him!

Thanks for buying my shirt and sharing your experience of wearing it (apart from the scary old dude part, D: Run for your life, merzzie!)

I got my package today and was really happy with how nicely it's being printed. The inspiration for this shirt was countless trips to an oriental shopping mall near London, and it looked like it could have come straight from Japan. But with a geeky twist, of course. ^__^

I see many posts arguing about the "cutesy" factor on Woot... and as a newbie, I can honestly say that I don't see it. I've now been lurking for a couple weeks, and I see very few kid friendly or cutesy shirts. Have you even SEEN the reckoning list? Very few I'd label as cute. Cool, details, interesting, nerdy but not cute. The Halloween derby? Yeah, right. Anything cute has 3 votes. Stop complaining. You visit this site EVERY DAY for a new product and you get it. Obviously not every single shirt is going to appeal to YOUR tastes. And I like this shirt! So there.
