It's cute how, as soon as your other pile of trash hit the fog, this one suddenly rocketed from not in the hotness to the top half thereof.

i dont understand all the hate here. Its on theme. and actually i like it. it needs some work. the sarrows hitting the squirell thing need to be embeded and maybe a bit more work on the arrows on the ground. keep at it mate! woot seems pretty mad today about stuff.

Re: Just Look Behind You!

Though our photoshop skill is absent, that does not mean my mind is not alive with wonderful ideas!

This was birthed from a fiesta of ideas between myself and my good friend JD. The first, we thought, “HEY! How about minotaurs dressed as Art Cows!!” Then we decided, NO way could we google all the things we needed to know so that we could do that!!

Then, we meandered, “Mona Let-Go-of-MY HAIR.” It was vast, we have the line work, but 5 minutes in to Caveman DaVinci (though our sabertooth harp was otterific), we decided that neither of us (having just recently obtained PS so that our ideas would no longer go to waste) had the skill (yet, I hope) to do this justice

We had one idea left, seen above. Caveman Rockwell.. If only you’d glance from that pond or merely wondered how that T-Rex got there!!

Perhaps this is a sort of foreshadowing of our meek, little hearts.. They were all so grand in our head (the details, the colors, the shading). If only either of us could more easily transfer our skill with tangible art tools to the PC.

Although this newly discovered piece is yet to be dated, some historians speculate that one of the individuals depicted may be none other than the great Queen Nefertiti

This is awe.some! I love the concept, and it's nicely done. I just think the lack of context - some background shading or something - puts it just a bit off for me.

Great colors and use of the shirt color. I'm especially taken with the subtle brown that really does look like it's behind the shirt color. Well done!

Re: The return of Quetzalcoatl

Midge, this um - rocks! Damn, you even fooled me - I clicked thinking it was going to be a Drakxxx piece.
I'm a big one for backgrounds, so I might've liked to see some hint of the night sky or clouds or something. Otherwise, though, this definitely has my vote.

runnerfrog13 wrote:Very unique style, the colors are nice together, and refreshing to see a submission not in earth tones. I have always liked the tiger-striped take on sabertooths. Good luck!

It does feel a little busy to me, and I recognize that is partially because of the style you've drawn in. It could be made a little less busy by taking out the dots in the foreground (they make it look like it's snowing almost) and perhaps making the grass blades thicker and not having quite as many. (Because they overlap the fur, which is already very textured) The fur and the leaves seem fine, since they don't overlap and are actually quite "solid" - meaning, the shirt color doesn't show through nearly as much as the very thin grass blades. If that makes any sense.

Thank you Runnerfrog for such a nice comment and for the constructive feedback. I will incorporate your thoughts into my brain processing unit. It is nice to have feedback, I spend alot of time analyzing the artwork here , feedback is helpful. And I appreciate it!
I hope you have a great day..
