Cheezburger is public domain. This one may be considered parodied enough to slide. The C&H was blatant theft.

The design rocks, and I am a fan. But, this is pretty 'shiny' for me. And I'm still trying to institute my asphalt ban! Really, it is wonderful, but I couldn't wear it.

Re: Fearsome Predator

I knew there were gigantic, vampire squirrels during prehistoric times.

This is just lazy and pathetic.

The Sesame Street one did get rejected, and rightfully so.
I'm hoping both the cheeburger and the ceiling cat will be as well.

Also, CTW has never made well-known declarations that they are totally against licensing their characters.

I am against all non-parody that uses other people's art and characters without adding anything, but to me, Watterson is a total other ball game. If someone refuses to even market their own art in any way other than in its own format (ie: books featuring prints, CDs of ones songs, etc) then anyone who would try to market that work themselves is proving themselves to be devoid of morals and ethics. It's lazy and sketchy to slap Big Bird on a shirt and call it parody. But it's wholly uncouth if big bird's creator is known for being against marketing big bird at all, thinking it would devalue his work.

You really don't get the "style" portion of derbies, do you?

This is just one of your regular shirts with less shading.

Re: The Birth of Venus of Willendorf

I, too, thought of the venus figure for an idea. But this? This? This is a great mashup between the prehistoric and the Greek, and the texture just sells the whole thing. I'm a little leery of heather most times. I think it may work fine here, though. Not what I'd have chosen, but then - who knows!

Re: Sabertooth Can Haz Cheezburger?

I'm not going to even read the thread. I anticipate a little hate for trading on a meme. You know what? It's well done, wearable, and recognizable. And the colors work for me.
It has a good beat, I can dance to it... I give it a ten!

Holy The Happening (2008) (dunno what the gallivanting alpaca will do with that, but I'll translate if necessary)
Just - holy The Happening (2008) This is the most spot-on, freakin' otterific entry I've seen. I really, REALLY hope this prints. This is a must-have for me!
LMAO! OK - it was h.o.l.y-s.h.i.t. And the w.o.o.tb.o.t (gallivantig alpaca? rly?) apparently has its own issues with references to itself!

I also agree about the colors and the style being wonderful as well, I was just trying to throw a new compliment into the pot.

I keep hearing this song each time I look at a Willendorf entry (including my own):

I'm loving the way this looks in your shirt mockup. It's hard, voting on designs in a flat, smooth medium that doesn't even remotely resemble where they'll end up. I hope this looks as good as your mockup, because that looks fabulific, and much better than the comp.

Re: The Buddha Nature Has Always Been

I love the rendering, the colors, the idea... I'm just not sure anyone looking at this shirt would have a clue what the theme had been.
I'm just wondering if I care, or if I should just go with the flow.
OK, flow. If you say the Buddha has always been there, who am I to argue?

I only just caught a glimpse of the title as I was clicking to see the comp. I was anticipating a dental pun. but - oh, OK.
I migh t hit me better if the tofu wasn't so white. I really did, at a glance, expect teeth in some form.

Re: The Art Keeper

Your attention to detail is wonderful, commendable. I LOVE the way you shaded/highlighted the sabretooth, AND gave it a stubby tail. Nice!
I don't see a reason the sabretooth is guarding the art, but I'm not sure I care.
My only serious reservation is that the transition between the scene and the shirt color is still too abrubt. I see you tried to fade them in, but especially in the upper 2 thirds - the lighter color - it still needs some more work to ease it in.

Wences, your English is good enough, and charming. And any time you want corrections, just ask. Maybe you'll teach me some Spanish!

It is SO wonderful to see PP back. I do mourn the loss of the buttcrack, tho. the addition of more color is interesting. I think, all things being equal, I like the original better. But it's still a walzaman. That sells me on it.

There are a host of problems with this design, but I am really proud of it, and can see how I'm learning, just by looking at it.

Must say I agree.

I feel like 2/3rds of Ramyb shirts are cutesy animals who are actually "evil" and are trying to eat/destroy something or another. It just feels predictable and lazy to me. Try some new ideas; mix it up a little bit! You are a good artist, Ramy (although I am sure many disagree), but your ideas are so repetitive that I am instantly turned off of your tees once I see them.

I appreciate the tips. However, I like the element of the discovery of the cave painting. I'm looking at the image right now with the archaeologist removed, and it loses something... besides the fact that it's only 2 colors! lol

I leave it to the masses. Above is the original, and here is the image, minus the archaeologist. What say you all?
