Whoa, those ponies are definitely making their presence known! I didn't see what people were talking about until now. Crazyness!

I need to dig through my mom's storage and see if I still have all my old ponies :D.

Really? Just 4th grade??? There'd have been war at my house if anyone tried to take ma ponies!

Also I am embarrassed. I still buy toys, which is probably why my house looks like a 12 yr old lives in it. ^^;

Yeah, but I was able to hang on to the Care Bears. She was kind of odd like that. Like no nerf for you, it's a boys toy...
Anyway, your house sounds otterific

BootsBoots, you had a good run there with 'Think of the Children', but it looks like the finish line is in sight. May your 'Viral Kawaii' infect the charts of the reckoning as long as a good disease should.

A resounding "Holy Crap" at the domination of the Ponies in the bragging rights. If that's not a sign of the coming Apocalypse, I don't know what is.

It is bounded by two strong shirts (at least sales wise) but if I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Squeeze biting the dust this week rather than Think of the Children.

Personally, I'm hoping that I'm wrong and that neither shirt gets reckoned.

Yeah, if only there were someone who didn't belong on the reckoning. Perhaps a terrible shirt pretending to be a good shirt. A fake, a phony, a pretender. An impostor, if you will.

Well ... this boy had Care Bears & Ponies & dolls right along with his action figures, trains, Matchbox cars, and Legos. (I think my mother got rid of the cars and ponies, but I still have all the rest.)

However, this boy also grew up to be pretty outrageously flamingly joyous, so make of that what you will. ;)

Ms. Bass, I'm starting to wonder if you aren't my evil bizarro fraternal twin. (Or perhaps it's more likely that I am the evil one.) My teeny little studio apartment also looks like it belongs to a pre-adolescent. (The Spider-Man curtains & bedspread make even my fanboy-buddies cringe ...)

The old stats were a lot more interesting as they encompassed a lot more variety and older shirts that were still being sold in the reckoning page. Now all the categories are going to be the same two or three newly released shirts at best.

I guess the goal may be for woot to try to get older shirts reckoned and out of print?

Yes. It does seem like an insurmountable task stepping up above both a Ramy and a Seki shirt...
(I think Squeeze is happily safe this week. It's been selling really really well these last few weeks).

Let's not write the eugoogily for Think of the Children yet, I think it also spent some time in 20th place the week that Music Is Life eventually reckoned. The shirt has a lot of fans, and it often part of last minute scrambling. Heck, I know that's when I finally bought my copy, 5 minutes before that specific derby closed.

(Side note: first time I wore it was also the first time I saw anyone else in a woot shirt...which happened to also be Think of the Children).

I'm trying to figure out how the ponies, with 95 shirts sold managed to outdo the "It Came Out of Nowhere" shirt on the international record... when I seem to recall last time I saw it that it had 600+ internationally... ?

The ponies have sold 95 shirts internationally this week. It Came out of Nowhere has the all-time record for international sold, but the stats have changed to week-by-week, instead of all-time.

Woot, I humbly suggest you have both weekly stats (where ponies could dominate, but it should really be shirts that are actually in the reckoning rather than bystanders) and all-time stats, where things like the impressive 700 or so international who/future shirts can show up.

+5 points for use of eugoogily for you thurl01

I love watching stats! Though I think the bragging rights change could be fun to watch if it were changed to all percentage stats. As it is, only the 'lady-friendly' and 'kid-friendly' are percentage stats.

And chances are the best seller of the week will also be one that appeals to all demos.

I'd love to see 'statistical oddity of the week' (e.g. Oklahoma was the only state not to buy this shirt, etc. etc.)

Motion seconded.

I'm kinda surprised they didn't do that to begin with. Why delete the perfectly useful stats?

Were any of the stats REALLY ... useful?

Another alternative is to bump it from weekly to monthly. That way it keeps the stats a little more fresh, but also encompasses some older shirts in the reckoning.

So I'm confused about the reckoning thing. How do you determine who wins and who doesn't? It couldn't be sales along or zombee wouldn't have been second-to last having only sold 3 shirts when i remember seeing that.

Is it a vote thing? how do you earn the right to vote?

i think the period of performance for reckoning ranking is usually longer than a week ('cept for possibly newcomers) but the rankings are only a week or less.

The problem is that the old stats were not accurate. It was an ongoing thing versus being reset at the start of each week.

Now, this week is a little funny since the ponies sold a lot, but next week it might be different. Personally though, I don't think bystanders should be included in the stats, just the shirts that can be reckoned.

Except the ongoing stats were, presumably, accurate as "ongoing stats". The only inaccuracy is for people who don't get that first day sales mean nothing in the reckoning (except for potentially framing the tee's future popularity), or don't realize that weeks are arbitrary, man-made spans of time, and in reality, by our rules, any span of 7 days, even if it doesn't begin on a sunday or monday, is a week.

With few exceptions, any week with a clear-cut print victor will look just like this week. And it will be boring.

All those danger zone shirts have such boringly mellow, bluish colors... except Think of the Children, which which sticks out in a not-so-mellow-or-blue way.

After Draxxx's design sold out, I'm going to have to agree - probably best to make the reckoning stats only shirts that can get reckoned. Even a Friday sellout cannot compete with a Monday shirt sellout, since the Monday shirt is gets a 5 day head start. And none of the shirts that can get reckoned will ever have a "Best" selling since even the worst selling shirt sells more than most reckoning shirts.

Yes, this is a good point too. Only the lowest of the lows, such as the notorious Skatetown, would fail to sell more than even #1 in the reckoning on their launch day.

I wonder how come woot didn't think of this when they changed over. Or if they did, why they did anyway? (or maybe something is broken)
