Re: Cloudy With A Chance Of Cats

I'm reminded more of a dog than a cat, unfortunately. I think it's partly because of the eyes. Cats have slit pupils; even when the pupils are dilated, they're still not completely round unless it's very dark, and then the pupil nearly fills the eye. I think just changing the eyes a bit would make it more reminiscent of a cat. Just my opinion.

Re: Clouds

beautiful, but it can't print. and would be very heavy to wear on a shirt.

it needs to be an actual painting or something. very pretty.

I refuse to answer on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Re: Cuteness Catastrophe

I kind of feel its don't blame the artist and blame Woot instead sort of deal here. The topic is extremely vague and broad. I read the theme as make "make sure the title of your entry starts with a C and you are good-to-go."

As an artist, I really like my work and want to see it printed. The money is nice too, but having your stuff on a product always bring more gratification to your work. I will resub my work any chance I get, and it is not out of laziness or greed. I do it because I have a passion for my artwork, and I want to see it put to use instead of collecting dust and cobwebs on my computer.

-facepalm- While I can understand you perhaps wanting this shirt(or I guess I can, though personally I wouldn't wear it), wearability aside, this shirt, as well as any other shirt that relies almost entirely on title alone to qualify it for a letter derby, should be rejected. Will that actually happen in all cases...Extremely unlikely, however.

Love your style, Walmazan! All your characters are great. BTW, I've totally been reading your name as Walzaman all this time. Only realized my mistake just now when I copy and pasted to make sure I spelled it right.

Re: coffee stain cats

But those stains would've been created by resting the cup of coffee directly on the shirt... Who the heck would lie down and try to balance a cup of coffee on their upper body?

Fantastic because it's comical, and not really cute. A nice change! You've got my vote for sure.

That's all I'm saying. I like it and I'd like to wear it, so I voted for it. It seems it is more on topic than it was for the V derby (which I wasn't even around for); that's the only reason I pointed the carrots out. It's up to Woot whether they want to reject it or not. You have to admit that some of these designs don't even make any sense unless you know the context of the derby.

It's possible that the stains were made on the shirt at a point when it wasn't being actively worn? Is there a trend out there of using clean t-shirts in place of coasters?

As someone who finds coffee in any form (and particularly the notion of coffee stains) rather nauseating, I'm afraid this design just isn't for me.

Maybe it's just personal taste, but the idea of wearing something that deliberately looks 'dirty' is pretty off-putting.

My husband. :D Actually, he has a glass of iced tea balanced on his chest at the moment while lying down on the couch. He's funny like that.

I think the difference is an artifact from when the Caterpillar Cat's eyes were done in a completely different fashion in the original pencils. They would have probably looked super weird and different if I had kept that version. Thanks for letting me know they are still a little odd.

I actually like the caterpillar's eyes. It's the other cat's that I'm not crazy about. But it looks like that's a characteristic style of yours? Wasn't aware of that until I read jmmbell1987's comment.

kc6201 wrote:Nice, but red and blue aren't complementary colors.

According to Wikipedia:

In the RGB color model (and derived models such as HSV), primary colors and secondary colors are paired in this way:

* red and cyan
* green and magenta
* blue and yellow

AND

Because of the limited range of colors that was available throughout most of the history of art, many artists still use a traditional set of complementary pairs, including:

* white and black
* red and green
* blue and orange
* yellow and violet

Thanks for the comment. I used the traditional complements of orange and blue, but there must be something wrong with my monitor calibration. After seeing it on other monitors my orange is significantly more red. I am going to resub a new version with a different color pair that I did later.
