I'm not sure that lolcats have been discarded, instead I just got an image of an overworked/slave-driven lolcat sweatshop - getting paid in sliders rather than real cheeseburgers:

Dangit... now I don't know what to do. I have pedobear in my design but the talk here leads me to believe that woot might reject it for that? But he's a meme... maybe they'll let it slide this week? Maybe I should replace him with a badger or advice dog....

At this point, it is. There is some good artwork, but it is wasted on the topic.

I couldn't stand it, and removed my horrid design. think I'll work on a couple of designs for a less thready place. ;^)

It looks like Vader and Ackbar are reacting to Picard's hand, but since most people read left to right, Picard's dialogue is the last thing they'll look at. You might try inverting it so Picard is seated on the other side of the shirt.

It's pretty great, I got all the memes for this one instantly and, despite my dreading this theme, I would probably have to get this one if the final product held up to the promise of this sketch.

I'm trying to find the fast forward button, but am having trouble locating it. Certainly woot wouldn't have created a derby such as this without giving the rest of us a means to bypass it and just go straight to next week.

Hey i'm new to this derby madness lolz, and i need some help on my entry. How do you decrease the rigidness of your drawings when you first scan it into your computer?

Have you tried scanning at a high dpi like 300? Scanning in greyscale as opposed to black and white helps too (unless your drawing is in color of course). I have no idea what your settings are so I don't know if this helps you at all or not lol. But I hope it does! Good luck!

If woot is serious about enforcing its "commentary on pop culture" parameter, it's going to have to reject pretty much every design so far.

I think this to myself almost every week, but I think I will go on record this week and declare this the worst derby ever.

After seeing the submissions, this is the worst theme ever.

Too bad there's not a rule that you can't use more than one LOLcat per entry.

I really wish I could draw. When I read this challenge all I could picture was a shirt with this "farmville" looking field on in with a few little "mafia" men dressed in black begging each other do work for them.

I think people would buy into it.

I don't think they're accepting just any pop culture stuff are they? I mean, Bieber is very much current pop culture, but they said no to him as a meme... *shrugs*

I searched through most of the memes on the know your meme website. I did come up with a couple of things but not much.

You could Obamanize (the Hope poster) the Dancing Baby who would be wearing a Halo or a star wars helmet, or you could replace the baby head with a big yellow smiley saying LOL

I dont know this one is a tough one. I am hoping to see some clever and fun shirts.

So is this a Meme Derby or a Know Your Meme Derby, cause I'm not convinced that site is the be all end all of what is and isn't a Meme.
