Re: Decorating the House v. 2 (revote!)

It's a great idea and well done. I'd like the shell to be a brighter or lighter color to make it stand out, or perhaps just the snail's body a different shade... but I know colors are limited. Got my vote!

Oh, I meant to add that the two constellations in the sky are Ursa Major (the bear) and Orion (the hunter). This is not at all important, unless it is.

It reminds me of every other turtle he's ever drawn...
I liked it better when you were branching out and drawing newer things. Or even the squirrels two weeks ago. Those seemed to be an improvement on the 'cute' designs.
Using the same turtle again for the umpteenth time just doesn't appeal to me.

Thank you! I was thinking of turning it into an ornament and putting an ornament topper up top and with a hook... I don't know if that would be overkill...

I say, resub: make the house GREEN and decorate it with natural objects instead of lights for Christmas... maybe a wreath made of nuts or fruits (the cornucopia concept is good, too)!

kylemittskus wrote:Pretty sure the Coca-Cola bears are copyrighted. And since there's no parody...

Actually they can't copyright plain white polar bears with no unique features. And as the artist said the bottles are in the "likeness" of Coca-Cola but their trademarks are not displayed anywhere. Not to mention it is clearly a parody.

" a work created to mock, comment on, or make fun at an original work, its subject, author, style, or some other target, by means of humorous, satiric or ironic imitation" - I would say it fits this without question.

If I wear it will CD men think I will SHARE my lingerie with them if they date me? A snow ball in Hades has a better chance!

The turtle's sleepy eyes really make this a win for me. Plus, the shape of the shell looks snug as a cozy sweater. I love it!

Oh, so now it's bears? I thought it was bunnies before. Although bears are decidedly more masculine.

Weird. For some reason I saw the black dots as nostrils on a really large nose sticking out as well. Just thought that's the way it was supposed to be.

Re: Warm and Cozy

I hope this will be taken as it's intended (constructive criticism) rather than the usual "Ramyhate".

Something about the close-up on this design feels unpolished and slightly rough-around-the-edges, when compared to your usual shiny-smooth style. Is this an intentional, stylistic choice, or are there simply too many small lines making my eyes go wonky? (the pattern on the shell + the shading + the 'glow-lines' around each bulb)

True... it leads to the question is home where the shell is? Or where the heart is? Or the other turtles? Now I'm mixed up;)

Thanks very much jerberry, that's what I was going for - an anytime design. So glad you like the way it lays on the shirt, I redid the road many times until this version.
