Absolutely fantastic illustration, Spirit! The character style, the colors, lighting, and textures are all amazing.

Just, wow. GMV.

Five colors on navy.

Admittedly, I don't get the Tron thing (probably because I am socks), but I love the character and colors.

I love to see your style derby entries. They always look different from your usual work, but still with some of your flair.

Thanks, Boots! This is my first attempt at drawing a character in this style. I think it turned out ok. As for Tron, you had to be weaned on it to appreciate it otherwise it's just another bad 80s movie.

LOL, they -do- look like snails, I guess. I would say they're snails, but then my title wouldn't be quite as clever. ;P

Re: Gutterball In The Alley

Well done! My favorite parts are actually bits of the background - the curvy railings, the streetlight, the design on the manhole, the brick bits and in the back the hanging laundry and city. Charming style!

I hope it does well.
I had a similar idea which I haven't finished.
I don't think mine will be as well done as yours or received by voters.
Fantastic job, none the less!

Oh wow, this is BEAUTIFUL, Jas. Love the tilt on the buildings, and the textures are awesome~ The birdies are adorable, but I think my favorite part are the cages at the bottom - LOVE them. GMV - I'd love to wear this one

Ohhhh... oops. Are they distant hay bales? Haha I though the background wavey lines was the hay. Your hay bales make adorable snails;)

Re: Lunch

inspired by Mad Men, yes?
if so I'm in.
I do wonder however, what if you played with the colors a bit. Possibly going with retro coloring and not be too restrictive with choices, meaning try mix and match compliments maybe going greenish on the skin with some yellow on army shirt or some variant. The coloring of the time period strikes me as fun and this design would be tops with that variant coloring from that time.
