If you submit this in another derby (please please please) the stair quality would pop more with not white background (please please please).

Really nice work Walz. A nice departure from your usual (but great) work. This also reminds me of the Big Bang episode were Sheldon dresses as the doppler effect for a costume

Re: Rain Shower

This is really nice Chris. A tree design, yet with your own nice spin to it. I actually think a lot of your designs have a bit of a mid century mod feel to them so this derby suited you. Keep it up +1

For someone who swears she can't draw people, you always have a knack for really doing a nice job on them. Great feel to this. I think it works a little better as a kids shirt but wonderful art nonetheless +1

You know, it seems the problem is that none of his trees have printed... so, let's just vote this one into printing and then all the future freaking trees submitted by him will just fall into the "similar shirt exists" category.

Re: Forest Friend (v2)

I think it would work better if the artwork spanned the whole chest. Right now it looks like it was plopped on the t-shirt template without any scaling.

That said, I LOVE this design and would totally buy one. Nice work!

Yes, this has to print!

Hey, Woot! How about an Editor's Favorite or Honorable Mention or whatever? Just print this...I'll be in for three, at least: one for me and one each for my 2 sons!

Kind of sad. They pretty much said to do something like one of their specific examples above or face being rejected.

I understand where your coming from, but I think woot is just trying to get its artists to draw from different inspirations. Otherwise the artists here tend to emulate each other.
This piece here is a great example of getting out of the "woot rut." I wish it was doing better, because then I would buy it.

Adam7986 wrote:Maybe I was a little harsh with that. Sorry, but it wasn't directed at the quality of your work. I am extremely interested in seeing what else you enter, because even though it looked like the cited works, I can see where you put some spin on it.

And the emulation comment wasn't meant to be a dig at you personally. This a cherished period of art for me, I am huge fan of what people accomplished during this time. The emulation is rampant in this derby.

Hey Adam no worries mate all cool!! , sure i get you but is the way you wrote what took me out of my place but totally fine i understand you ,

I don't think your design would be quite so striking on any other color. The fact that it's white wouldn't deter me form buying it. I love the look and feel.
