I change my oil in my car - this shirt would work for that quite well

I am from Louisiana and I thought this shirt was really cool. Shows some hope for a cleaner 2011.

In for two!

As someone who often buys gasoline for my automobile, I feel as though this shirt is directly related to my life.

With that said, I agree with dreamaster. This would have been ideal for New Year's Eve; by January 6th, it's gonna be too dated to bother with. Pity.

I felt the same way about this shirt.

It seems like 2011 is going to start with new beginnings, a chance to clean things up and have a better future.

2011...well, all the Gulf Coast needs now is a major hurricane. hey, at least it's nature!

as a Midwest transplant from Mobile, AL, i cried when i heard about the spill. i can't even get behind this shirt. i get too depressed. i'd rather order the Lex&Terry 'B(endover)P(ensacola)' shirt.

i'd have preferred another hurricane.

this shirt should have come out months ago. this thing is old news. most people have already forgotten about it

The colors are great; the iridescent muck to the blue pop of ocean. It's a nice sentiment too.

Oils well that ends well.

I don't get why so many people think this is in bad taste. It's about hope, or at least that's what I see. It's about dusting yourself off and getting back up again, no matter how bad the situation. Of course, maybe that's because I had such a crappy year, even without the oil spill. It's the perfect shirt for a new year (even if it doesn't arrive by the 1st).

Is that streak of clean water supposed to look like something between the hole in a zero (which would make 2010) and a one (which would make 2011), at the same time? If so, that's pretty cool, but it took me over 6 hours to get it.

Both topical and sad-- my favorite combination.

Sell shirts for upcoming holidays two weeks before hand. Woot seems to be a bit late with these holiday shirts. I've seen this before with Christmas,Halloween etc.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this is in relatively poor taste. Not exactly the type of thing I want to celebrate on my clothing.

The only satisfaction I'm taking away from this is that sales along the West coast seem to be lighting up, while the dutifully more tasteful East seem far less interested.

Why not make a happier shirt about tasty olive oil or something?

The sludge effect is cool. If created by woot, does this mean done by an in house artist?
On a side note, is anyone having problems seeing images on the shirt.woot site today?

This shirt makes me want to cry. I have a little place on the beach in Gulf Shores, AL and I remember checking every day online for when the oil was going to hit. It was my favorite childhood place potentially getting destroyed by oil. (Some washed up but it wasn't anything compared to other places, thank goodness) This spill also did damage to small businesses that were just hanging on waiting for the summer tourists that never came. Fishermen also were hurt by this.
Not letting it go and constantly keeping it in the news can do damage as well. Folks won't travel to a beach with water they think they cannot swim in which can hurt the local economy even further. It's just sad.

I'm in the oil industry, and I can tell you that most people here on the Gulf have NOT forgotten about this. Whether it affected you emotionally, financially, ethically, whether you lost your job, lost your locally owned business, whether you live in one of the many many small towns which had their customer base ruined, or whether you knew any of the men who died, we have NOT forgotten this...

I'm not sure oil would really wipe that clean with a broom, but I really like this design. I wonder how many people will forget about the oil spill in 2011--this is a great way to remind them of the atrocity.

Apparently you don't drive a car or you don't care how that car has affect other people and animals.

Our mysterious in-house artist is more mysterious than Daft Punk and The Stig combined.

Frankly, with tgentry on staff I expect far better from shirt.woot's in-house creations.

Also, it is too late for NYE just as the weak Channukah shirt was late for that holiday.

There's more oil on that shirt than is left in the Gulf.

I don't see the pessimism in this shirt that everyone else sees... I think the message is about optimism for 2011. That pelican looks pretty darn determined.

How depressing! I love it.

I love the shirt, bought it right away with overnight shipping. Then they added the block about inventory, and now it says Monday for overnight shipping. This sucks, it should have had the correct information to start with!!!! I feel a bit cheated, way to go WOOT! Next time, can you get your facts straight and sell them in time for the correct holiday??

But what will I wear for New Years next year?
