However, I still love this design :D +1

Re: Pig In Space Redo

Actually, I think I prefer the little puff puff puff of the pig propeller on the first one, and the non-squeezed pig. Also, the title. The whole concept is awesome. I'm rooting for it!

Re: It's just a flesh wound

This is definitely not a shirt I would wear, but the mastery of volume and illusion is really impressive. The rejection of this shirt is totally Sirius GPP, woot has printed plenty of shirts that aren't original; I've bought a couple on here myself that are just animals wearing people clothes in a pseudo-oldschool-portrait. What gives?

Also, I would like to add that if the market was actually saturated with shirts like this, it wouldn't have gotten so many votes.

Labrylla wrote:Bunch of crap. I LOVED this shirt AND searched for similar ones online to see if it was "too similar" like people said. Jatravartid w00ters. There is nothing like this. Find a home for it and I buy it like I was intending to in the first place. :-p

Labrylla,

Thanks for the support, but as disappointing as it is, woot's rejection is approriate : (

Although I couldn't find similar shirts in my own searches, I have since been made aware of several shirts that attempt to create the illusion that the wear has been the victim of a ninja star attack. I personally feel my design does the best job of creating the illusion, but according to woot rules quality does not trump prior implementation.

As for this design printing elsewhere, I'll see what I can do when the 60-day post-derby cool-off is over

fishxsandwich18 wrote:Yes, there are many other designs, but if I remember correctly, this was one of the first submissions in the derby. I think everyone else who had the idea should have been rejected.

Also, How is this rejection justifiable when there are about 12 shooting star shirts. Honestly. I would have bought this shirt.

Rejections don't apply to designs within the derby, but they are based on the existence of similar designs that have printed print outside of the derby, have been printed as a daily, or printed after winning in a previous derby.

The rejection is sadly appropriate : (

Augh, it figures I'd inadvertently converge on another submission my first derby! *head-desk* I didn't even think to look through previous themes.

I'm glad to hear you appreciated the technical aspects of the design even if it isn't your thing.

I usually just copy the shirt layer I need and paste it into another document and work with it from there. Not sure what you mean by looking at past entries though

Many thanks for the link, I'll use those templates next time. Though are we supposed to display both guys and girls?

I voted for your design and haven't found a similar one that does the concept justice. If you do find another outlet, I'd love one.

Regardless of the validity of the rejection, I'm still sad to see it.

It's not really a style I would probably wear personally, but I wanted to compliment you on the illustration.

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad I got the happy dog look right, I have mostly cats for pets so I have a slight handicap. =D

amreli wrote:Definitely pretty. Though I keep getting distracted by the matter transfer stream coming out the wrong side of the bigger star. It should be the side closest to the other star, since it's a gravitational pull, for example:

The fact that it bugs me likely puts me in the minority, given your design is doing significantly better than mine. Feel free to critique mine as well, obviously you have a lot more experience and success at this than I do.

It's unfortunate you can't resub your (and bassanimation's) Cold Fusion design from a few months ago, it would have been perfect.

You could say the matter is coming form the wrong way of the star, however variables such as each stars momentum and speed of orbiting it's axis could make this a plausible scenario.

Technically, yes, though much less likely. But it still just looks wrong to me, which detracts from the overall appeal of the design. It's a well done design and I want to really like it, but that aspect bugs me, which was the main point of my comment. Just trying to provide feedback for the artist, since I know I like to hear what other people think I can do to improve my designs.
