"Wagon Train To The Stars"

First used by Gene Roddenberry to describe his vision for Star Trek, but now just as accurate a description of Firefly and Serenity. :^)

Here are some details:

This is a six color design on deep space black.

Re: A Star To Steer Her By

Sea-Fever

"I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking."

- John Masefield

2 colors on navy: blue and yellow.

ChaosDoctor07 wrote:I'm not sure if this is how it's going to end up, but this seems a lot more "space"-related than star-related. Yes, obviously our Sun is indeed a star, but the focus is most certainly on the planets. Not saying it should be rejected necessarily for being off-topic, but...Just my thoughts.

Agreed, a cool design, but probably would have been more appropriate to a Planets derby.

Re: In the Dead of Night

I love the idea. It's got potential to win, but I think that the skull shape needs a little works...it's kinda pointy at the bottom! Keep up the good work though!

That's a nice idea... and just something to tell kids to do at camp if they are feeling lonely or homesick. Thanks crazy4books!

The imagination of a child is powerful and could propel them to a future beyond our dreams or among the stars!

here's a link to 16x20 version of the design for closer review.

It was to demonstrate how small monkeys (and by inference, people) are. The overall tone attempts to convey a feeling of loneliness and desperation.

Similar to the scene in 2001 where Poole goes drifting off into the vast nothingness of space.

I love this! I have a young son and I can't wait until he starts dreaming like this. There's nothing like the dreams of a child. :D Also your style works wonderfully for this.
