Re: Feathered Friends

Great design. Who says the updated version of small theropods lack awesomeness.
Next dinosaur-related one you do definitely should have a microraptor or oviraptor.

Why is it that this shirt is always on the top of the "new hotness" when I look, yet it still doesn't climb up into the fog? This is the only shirt in the derby that I actually want! *grumble* Regardless, good job and the design

I like. If only the dragon were a kite too, then I'd love it. And yes, giant, inflatable, creature kites do exist.

This design deserves to reach a "higher dimension." I want to see it swimming strong against the current of votes and breaking free into the atmosphere!

Bingo. Except I forgot the question mark. And I spelled it wrong in the shirt comp (but spelled it right in the entry name). Huh?

If only the majority of voters on shirt.woot weren't so base...

So it goes.

So it goes.

I really wasn't setting out to make this KV fan art or a "best of stuff that was in his books" as much as I was simply exploring Rabo Karebekian's idea of painting living things as vertical light beams. So that's why there's a robot, which is, like you said, not really a Vonnegut thing. It's a me thing, though, and I'm the boss. Of my own artwork at least. Sometimes.

Anyways, it evolved into a piece where I threw in little Vonnegut allusions, but the piece is really meant to stand on its own. Of course, if you're a big Vonnegut fan, then I hope it's even more satisfying. I think there's enough narrative hear to tell a story, but it's got enough mystery to allow a degree of interpretation. Anyways, I know Mr. Vonnegut was an artist, himself, and if this design ever prints anywhere for a decent chunk of change, I want to buy one his hand-signed prints, maybe the portrait of Kilgore Trout. So please, someone with 500 accounts or so, hurry up and vote!

And thanks for the BL nod.

Nice simplistic style. Though, for me, 'old school' would be an am/fm transistor radio with a tinny little speaker. ^-^

Thank you for the poem link! It is so easy to extinguish creativity without realizing it. On the print, I had my own analogy about domesticated animals being "dulled" but then the turtle, clearly a wild animal, was contrary to that first impression. Also, the wings on the lion are too Narnia for me.
