Yeah, that guy has been very motivational for me. For awhile, I pretty much dropped my cartoony style because I didn't see any future with it. He inspired me to bring it back (well, he wasn't the only reason, but he had a major impact- actually, these woot derbies had a huge impact on that too). This looks like something straight out of my old sketch books (the original inked version... before I scanned it and added color), and I am glad I have taken steps back because drawing this kind of stuff is really fun!

Agreed - I really love this shirt but I can't wear white or cream colored shirts due to my own pastiness

It could work on light blue, for sure. I didn't want to use too much color tho, mostly just for my own tastes. Really wanted the black to pop and nothing makes black stand out as much as white.

I wanna add that the first time I saw this (on Threadless), I was absolutely blown away. This is seriuosly a fantastic piece of work. I really really hope that the voters rally around this, because it's a piece truly deserving to be made real.
