I've posted an alternative version (hoping it's not out of rules) on a creme tee (:

Thank you for watching and voting!

posting two is fine, but giving voters options rarely helps your vote count.
Edit: and by posting two I mean submissions and not showing the option in an outside link. As you didn't cause confusion in the mock up it my be alright. but one color shirt per sub. as woot doesn't give buyers color choices.

As for the MP3 rule, as this thing plays LPs it might be fine (since you are trying to combine 3 eras). We'll see though.

Awesome design and I am totally digging the Cthulu-esqueness of it. As for those who say that it is "pop culture" maybe it is here on woot, and among the goths, but I'd be willing to be that the average person would try to be funny and say "bless you" if you said Cthulu around them.

Re: Audio Emergency

I really like the way you can take a fairly generic idea, give it a clever spin and make it funny, unique and wearable. I guess what I'm trying to say is:

you're the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

you're the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

you're the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

You and radiomode had pretty much the same idea, but you both took it in different directions. I don't know if I like his multicolored stars better or your monotone green vinyl better. Both are great

No no, it's totally understandable. The treble clef is much more noticeable. I probably was a little too subtle with the bass clef. Aww, thanks for the vote.

clarinerd wrote:I'm usually not a fan of designs taking up the entire shirt, but I'll make an exception here. Great stuff! If only there were a saxophonist as well... GMV anyway though.

I didn't want it to be too Jazz heavy, so I left out the Saxophonist. I've been listening to Bird & Diz a lot lately, and was going to try to incorporate both of them into the desin. But, in the end, it was just too much.

I tried to be real "bebop" with this design, I wanted it to be loose and look like a bunch of chaos, but when you really take time to look at it, there is an actual order to things. I don't know how well that worked out in the end, but it is how I approached it.

Re: Cooler than You

The floaty-ness of the earbuds on the regular penguins bugs me a little because it was the same floaty issue that made me not interested/dislike the turtle entry from last week. Also, it strikes me that if it weren't for the no penguins rule last week, this could have easily been entered in the oddball derby and fared a bit better than the mutant turtles attempt. Last thing, I feel like I am seeing a 7th color of orange on the punk-penguin's mohawk, but assume that is just halftones or some such thing that give the effect.

I love the way the CD splashes into the vinyl. The splash is cool, and well done. So is the melting. I think what's bothering me is the white line around the record. I dunno. But it catches the eye, that's for sure.

I have always compared the universe with the music, both are based in harmony and a perfect tempo apart of much other things, I tried to represent that using two vinyl records tied as an infinite loop where the record grooves work as an orbital path for each planet, hope you like it, 4 color on black, thanks! clarinerd wrote:This is a new rendering of my other design "ginormograph." I think I like this navy, truncated, cleaned up, touched up, sans linework version better. It seemed too different to call it a "2.0" so I gave it a new name.

So, if you voted for my older design vote for this one! If you didn't vote for my other design, vote for this one anyway! It's better and newer and shinier and stuff like that.

I like this one much better! It looks great! However, not sure why, but the shirt in the mockup looks like it has a strange brown stain like thing around the speaker that doesn't appear in the actual design.
Not sure if it's in the design or not.

Otherwise, it looks great! GMV!

Man... I WANT to love this design, but as a musician, it's driving me crazy that you've just sort of haphazardly slapped a bunch of music-related symbols on there. The repeating treble clefs just kill it for me. And... okay, it kind of does look like an intestine. The colors are great, the bird is gorgeously adorable... just that detail of the clef signs being strewn about where they don't belong drives me batty.
