well piss, i loved this shirt until i read the comments, which made me take notice of the details, or lack there off. i don't think i could wear this knowing the robots body keeps changing shape, and i know my ocd fiance wouldn't let me hear the end of it.

Re: The Big Gentleman

Thanks lucky and Megsck! :D

Yes, it was a lot of drawing. I probably wouldn't attempt this in the normal timeframe. Call me crazy though, but I like it! I'd wear this.

Or maybe paint it onto a skateboard. :p

Re: The Binary League: Defending the Earth Since 1907

Thankyou to all you chaps and chapesses for your charming comments! On behalf of the League, Sir Titanius would like to cordially invite you to an evening of motor oil cocktails and metallic hors d'oeuvres at the ancestral seat Coggsturn Grange; a chance to give his hearty thanks and also to celebrate the recent vanquishing of the Martian menace. Vires in Numeris!

Vuisyou - That is exactly what I was trying to do! Well, kind of... I wasn't thinking: 'I hope I put a smile on Vuisyou's face'. I was more or less hoping it would put a smile on everyone's face. Singling you out would just be creepy.

Re: Saving the world, one small step at a time

This design did make me giggle. At first glance, I was rolling my eyes and muttering "Not another 'please recycle' shirt." and then I saw the third panel and had to pause. Not because I didn't understand it - the action was pretty clear and obvious - but because it was an unexpected bit of wit in what I originally assumed was going to be another generic shirt.

The artwork does have some problems. Some of those can be excused by the "cartoony" style, but others just look a little like laziness. The gun not being photo realistic is understandable. The inconsistent shape/size of the robot bothers me a bit more.

I would have liked this design more and been more forgiving of flaws without the metallic ink. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD. A touch of silver as an accent would be okay, but this would look as if my chest was covered in tin-foil, and to me that's a bit too tacky.

D3lusional wrote:*facepalm*

You say you understand then go on to repeat the same counterargument that has nothing to do with my point. I am not trying and have no wish to debate the effectiveness of techniques and instrumentation for dealing with a fictional outbreak of the undead. A t-shirt, (especially considering the target audience) cutesy with a simple punchline, should be easily readable IMO, which this is not. It took me a minute to realize it was a gun it is holding and even then it wasn't immediately clear it was using it against the zombie. So again the crux of the shirt, helpful robot fighting against zombies, is not well conveyed...IMO

The problem with your argument is that zombies don't use guns. So what would be the point in arming them? The fact that thats what you see means you either have no deductive reasoning or you just want to find something to criticize. Methinks its the latter..

Re: Faith in technology

This shirt is intended as a meditation on man versus nature. As seen recently in Japan, technology and fail-safe systems do not stand up against the extremes of the natural world. Any proceeds from this shirt will be donated to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami fund.

thanks i know there are so many watering plant robots out there. i tried a design out with inanimate objects that reminded me of childhood but for some reason it looked weird. thanks for the suggestion though

Sachmoe64 wrote:Dooomcat, I really like your style. My only suggestions would be to simplify. Both your designs are great, but they are very busy. Perhaps you should have just done the last panel of this shirt with more focus on the coloring. That just my thoughts.

I appreciate the input Robots are kind of a stretch for me so this week was really more of an experiment.

Took the other down and did a quick re-sub because I forgot to halftone part of the image. Here's my elephant with rocket feet in 5 colors. A world is a world no matter how small.

Enjoy, and every vote is appreciated!
