Big fan of this one. Here's hoping it prints, because it'll be my next shirt.

The colors and composition seem to work great on a t-shirt. Great job!

Wow. Amazing use of perspective, shirt color, etc in this one, Robbie. You're hitting on all cylinders here. Do I even need to say this has my vote? Because it soooo does

I love this. Probably my favorite entry in the whole wide derby! I hope you print it elsewhere if it doesn't make it to the top three this go 'round

Re: Peace

Got my support. This is a lovely design. The layout, shading and colors are all chosen with great thought and restraint. It's bold but refined at the same time.

That silver ink would create an interesting effect too. :^)

Color counting is some kind of extreme measure to take? Seems like a legitimate question to me. However,

megsck wrote:so the colors have been counted, there are either 6 or 7, either way constantly posting about it isnt helping or doing anything.

Dude, you are a woot god. Your work continually blows me and obviously the whole (well, most-there's always someone) woot community away. I'd like to see you take some time on a real face-melter and submit it as a daily. Show us what you got when you can spend some time on a piece. Obviously, the extra hours did wonders here. Kudos.

This is absolutely unbelievable. One of my favorites of all time, I think. So much careful thought, wit, and creativity! I mean, seriously, how many other designs have even TWO different robots?

So, when did you get to be the absolute judge of deciding what's "art" and what's not? From dictionary.com:

ART - the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.

Some people have the opinion (contrary to popular belief, people are allowed to have opinions) that this is appealing. I'm just saying that it seems rather odd that you're making something very subjective into something completely objective.

Personally, I wouldn't wear this, although it's a masterfully done piece. It almost looks too slick, and I have a feeling it won't look so amazing when printed. I also have a feeling that 3000 people will be able to see for themselves very soon.

I tend to make things too complex. I'm glad that the message and the bird robot come across for people. =D I had a different version the first time but the message wasn't as clear.

I think what he's trying to say is that this particular piece has no soul or identity, and I frankly agree with him. Like a few of us have already mentioned, this particular piece does not have any particular flow or style worked into it to make it a "design" so to say. It's a wonderfully done illustration for sure, but the bottom line in my opinion is that the blunt execution is boring, and to me, no very wearable at all.

Not comparing anyone, but making an example: Drak will typically just "illustrate" a concept that goes with the theme, but he/she sets things up a certain way in regards to layout, and all the pieces usually have a great flow to them with the way various elements are coordinated.

Again, this is just "Exhibit 1: Depiction of Robot fighting Squid in Space". Cut and dry on a t-shirt. No design qualities.

Again, just my 2 cents.

Yes, considering the fact that (1) no one else is scrutized in the same way and (2) the color counting has turned into a bit of a feeding frenzy. I trust the woot staff has enough competency to count the number of colors used. Rest easy people.
