Time again for another march toward t-shirt doom! Discuss this week's life-or-death struggle for sales supremacy as chronicled on the Reckoning page all week long.

Here's how the Reckoning week runs now: every Tuesday at midnight, we retire the previous week's lowest-selling shirts and launch this here discussion thread. Tuesday around noon we'll post the all-new, all-early Reckoning Recon. On Friday, we'll juice demand and prime the pump with a little weekend reminder post. Finally, on the following Monday, the Day of Reckoning post sounds the last call for the Reckoned shirts. All of those posts will be linked below. Monday night (or Tuesday morning), it starts all over again. The Reckoning, she is a hungry beast...

As of this moment 'Acquired Taste' is both the best and worst seller. Is there nothing this shirt can't do?

I wish there were more bright colors. The Reckoning is always so gloomy! Let's see some lemon or something.

So the Reckoning is based on a shirt's sales from the monday through monday after the week it premiered? I am simply trying to understand here...does it only take into account the current week's sales or does it factor in sales from weeks past as well? For example, does Nevermore really keep selling shirts week after week or is it helped by the fact that it's been in the reckoning for years? Thanks folks.

Myself personally I would be up for some red in that mix. Was kinda hoping for a ramby win in the derby last week. Oh well.

Could someone explain to me how "Invasive" sold 898 shirts, but it is BELOW "One of Those Days" (that sold only 554 shirts)???

They printed at the same time (March 16th and 17th), and neither one had a big run of sales after their first day.

How is this possible??????

I honestly think woot just ranks shirts however they want.

Another week rolls by and Acquired Taste is still holding on strong to that number one spot. Will it hold fast? That's up to you and the rest of the Shirt.Wooters this week. Take a look around our Reckoning page, peruse the designs, see one you like, and buy. That purchase gets fed into our top-secret-absolutely-classified (read: we don't know how to explain it) algorithm to calculate the standings. It could mean the difference between first and second, or the Top 20 and the Danger Zone. With that in mind, here are the standings as of when I copied and pasted this:

  1. Acquired Taste
  2. Unstealthiest Ninja
  3. Reflections on Pi
  4. Cooler Than You
  5. Gingers!
  6. The Binge
  7. Star trails remix
  8. Just a little paint
  9. No one left to play with
  10. It Came Out Of Nowhere
  11. Odd Bear Out
  12. Nevermore
  13. Gardening at Night
  14. Fresh Cake
  15. Natural Instinct
  16. Tofu, Food's Master of Disguise
  17. School
  18. Who Needs Gravity?
  19. You Weren't Invited
  20. Self-Expression

Woot does not count day one sales to the ranks. All this shows was that invasive has been able to sell less shirts than one of those days after day one. Dont let the total number of sales fool you.

You know you really screwed up when you get a Simpsons themed pop culture shirt to print and it doesn't even break the 800 mark on it's first day of sales.

Not exactly... It's based on the shirt's average sales per day, excluding its launch day, over the past 4 weeks. I thought that Invasive and One of Those Days right now weren't following that logic, but just realized that since the percentages shown are rounded to the nearest full percentage point, it's impossible to know the exact number sold on launch day. And the uncertainty in that number is definitely enough to have Invasive above One of Those Days. Spirit Animal does still seem a little odd, though. There's no way to tell for sure, since the 96% on Tuesday includes both the launch day and today. But, at the least, it would have to have sold about 4% of its total sales today, to be above Wizard Magic Party. It's certainly possible, but seems odd.

As far as Nevermore, since it's averaged over the past 4 weeks, it's possible that its had a drop off in sales the past couple weeks, but more likely people are still buying it at a steady rate.

The red shirts were all killed off unceremoniously before the second commercial break.

That just goes to show how serious of a situation the reckoning really is.

I am surprised at how many of the shirts (9 to be exact) are nothing more than an exemplification of the Sesame Street "One of these things is not like the other things."

I'm NOT surprised, seeing several originated in Derby #186 - Oddball.

I am just proud to own some serisouly original Woot shirts that have since been reckoned away.

Red shirts, brown shirts, green shirts, blue shirts, black shirts, grey shirts. All, to me, are spshul and superawesomefantastic. The Poe and TMBG shirts are favorites of mine.

And, due to the turn over of the shirts and fast rate shirts get reckoned, I have been buying a second shirt of my favorite designs as a back up. Just in case, you never know.

I'm apathetic about the Reckoning shirts this week. Does that mean I get a free "Meh" shirt?

capsfanbryce

quality posts: 4 Private Messages capsfanbryce

Two thoughts this week:

1) I'm plum stunned that the "meh" shirt really ranks so high in the Derby.

2) It's a shame some of the really quality designs didn't wind up placing ahead of the usual 3 we get shirts on the derby list from. I have a feeling most of them won't last more than a couple weeks or so.

Best of luck in the next derby!

Look on the reckoning page at the row of "Bystanders" - it should be the first from the left, I guess.

It fell two reckonings back. I remember it as if it were just this month..the date was March 14th. Not quite the Ides of March, but certainly a momentous day nonetheless...

Well, if it's what the people vote for and buy, and continue to buy, then that's what it means.

FWIW, two of the bystanders are by them too. So if none of their shirts are reckoned in the next 20 (or 25) minutes, that'd be 8 between the two of them next week.

Call it! The clock as expired, time has run out, the sands have sifted through the hourglass, and time's up for seven shirts in our Danger Zone. We saw some last minute jostling for position and a leap to safety, but not for any of our soon-to-be-Reckoned shirts. Stop by the Reckoning page right now and pay your respects, because after midnight you'll never hear from any of these guys again:

Gardening at Night
Self-Expression
Wizard Magic Party(noob)
Who Needs Gravity?
Spirit Animal (noob)
One of Those Days (noob)
Invasive (noob)

And there goes the only shirt (Gardening at Night) worth buying. Anyone have a $5 off coupon they don't want to use?

No, wish I had one to use for myself, the shirt is amazing I own 2 already and am thinking of picking up the third just in case.

Does Woot normally end sales 5 or so minutes before midnight their time? I tried buying Gravity a few minutes ago, only to show it as sold out....
