Why are pandas always looking depressed on this site?

I like the humor behind it. The ballons remind me of those Mickey Mouse ballons you can get at Disneyland Parks.

I was thinking X marks the nose myself...

Like both sets of expressions, the panda looking uncertain how the balloon got in that position and the balloons looking somewhat surprised themselves.

Reminds me of the movie Up with floating houses... though it wouldn't require as much balloons here. The average weight of a panda is somewhere around 300 pounds (give or take a few pounds relative to gender). I wonder how many balloons it would take to lift up the panda. I guess we could make pigs "fly" using this same method.

The midwest is apparently not a fan of pandas. Or terrifying panda balloons for that matter.

I've never seen a Mickey balloon with a crossed out mouth though. Perhaps it's because they wouldn't sell very well.

On a non-panda-related note, the write-up for this shirt made me very nostalgic for the days when I would go to the county fair and my parents would buy me a balloon but they had to tie it to my wrist or else I would end up like those poor crying koalas. Of course they had to make sure to use a square knot, not a bow, so that it wouldn't come loose. When I got home I usually couldn't/wouldn't undo the knot, so I would walk around the house with the thing still tied to me, bumping into doorways, light fixtures, ceiling fans, etc. Eventually, bedtime would come and we'd have to cut the balloon string to free my wrist for sleep. But then I would always make them tie it to something else in my room so that it wouldn't escape. Eventually, over the next several days the balloon would wither away over until it was nothing but a limp wrinkled latex blob hanging by the string. Good times, good times.

Just thought I would point out that Koalas are NOT bears. They are marsupials. Also, they do have opposable thumbs, 2 in fact, thereby discrediting there entire paragraph written about them. Sorry, but being in veterinary school I get annoyed when people blatantly state wrong facts about animals.

I think the word you are looking for is not "annoyed" but perhaps "precocious" or "haughty."

This shirt is a bit depressing.

The panda spoke to me this morning. I'm being RIF'd in June & I really can't afford this shirt, but he looks like I feel. It was all I could do to get myself out of bed and drag myself into work. I would have preferred to sit on a rock holding a bunch of balloons.
