from the preview icon thing, I thought that they were hamburger patties...judging from the entire picture, they look like checker pieces. Although, I can not unsee lol

Oh! Nice catch! I didn't see the "hood eyes" at first.
Splendid.
Most excellent save from the phallical path in the pre-derb. :D

And not to *ahem* beat a dead horse, but shouldn't it be the white horse since it belongs to the king?

bluejester wrote:Sorry Walmazan, it was a nice design, but it was a little too pop culture. Sorry also that I missed most of the prederby thread, kinda surprised that no one said anything there about it.

Still is cool though and hope you find another venue for it to be submitted too.

I made a comment in the pre-derby thread saying it might get rejected, but then flip flopped since "The Lion King" didn't come up with the concept of king of the jungle.

I guess this shows that they are going to lean towards rejection if it falls in the gray area.

Walmazan is great though so I'm sure he'll be submitting another great design soon (please!).

I love this design! My only wish is that it was on a different T-Shirt color, like blue or possibly dark gray...

I also really appreciate how well done the dresses are. Great skill!

This is another design I came up with. Its simple but thought it would be fun and wearable. Feel free to comment and critique.

Here's a link to a 16x20 jpeg of the design. Thanks in advance for your support.

bluejester wrote:It's a clever idea, but the dark frogs are too dark to be discernable on computer screens so it will likey be hard to tell that there are dark frogs there in real life as well. Still, neat little idea though.

Yeah... it wasn't this dark when I finished on my home computer but I don't have the editing software at work to make it lighter... maybe I'll resub at home.

Just when I thought you were getting into a design rut you put this out. I did not expect to see your name up there when I clicked. As others have said, it's not something I myself would wear but it's gorgeous nonetheless. Nicely done!

Re: Two Queens

thanks for the comments! as some have mentioned there is some perspective and positioning distortion. just wanted to say that it was intentional so that the design layout was even and so the characters shared about 50/50 of the space. I was hoping that pushing space around a little would benefit the design.

That really is a bummer that you got rejected Wences. I am still pulling for "Forbidden Love". Hopefully you're are able to get another design up into the derby this week.

This lucky pair of Seahorses embraced the chance to be in charge of the underwater castle. It never bothered them that it was just aquarium decor.

I actually feel the same way. I love the negative space of the image, but not the glow. I have a different version that I think I'll submit, too.
