Re: Jolly Punk
reminds me a little of the sand people, but otherwise i like it (or perhaps, that makes me like it even more)
Re: Cyber Scull
could you do a close up to show some of the details?
Re: connect!
Reminds me of a little sister with a big daddy...
pokethedeadkat wrote:Resubbed since it wasn't working in IE. Hope everyone still likes it.
man this would be so cool if it didn't have the whole red blot in the middle. I would buy it if the whole thing was a little more subtle and the drawing done in red strokes. you still get a vote though
Re: Cyber Rider
Id like that bike please. In pink...with awesome spinners. Kickass design, Patrick. I really like the mood you've created and the interesting brush work!
Re: Circuit Breaker
This is a super dynamic image, awesome colors too. Glad to see this one up, go go go! +!
thequietfly wrote:could you do a close up to show some of the details?
I tried to keep the rough hand drawn feel when you look closely. All the faces within the scull are dead and the others are not happy! Hope you like.
thequietfly wrote:the fact that it works makes this even more awesome
I'm quite fond of the potential hilarity that could ensue if someone snaps your picture in this, not knowing what the code does.
Re: a storm in the machine
I'm so sad this was rejected! I love it (and do think it's adequately on-theme).
Re: cybear punk!
I guess this is one way that pedobear can capture children.
Re: Cyber Predator
So If I resubmitted with a different title you would vote?
Re: Who Am I?
Oh my look at the time... I'll come back and explain the thing after I sleep. Thank you for looking and feedback is appreciated as always!
IgnatiusRiley wrote:And here I was hoping, for a brief moment, that at least a cyberpunk-themed derby would be cutesy-free. I hate this shirt on a molecular level.
Cutesy isn't the problem here. Theme is. Cyberpunk is such an atmospheric genre, and this design has none of the qualities that make cyberpunk. Mattcom's entry shows that, at the very least, bunny-themed entries can be on theme. If this is cyberpunk, so was "Winning the Race".
AdderXYU wrote: I'm with you on the cyberpunk question though. It is an amazing design, and deserves to be on a tee, but I don't think it's particularly on-theme. Far be it from me to complain if woot's inability to define their own themes actually benefits superior art for once, but on theme is on theme.
Agreed on this. My cynical side is tempted to say that this derby was going to be more FUBAR than the Steampunk one in terms of designs being on theme, so we may as well let the good ones stay in the running. However, I'd rather see a ton of rejections keeping the derby on theme. Unfortunately, that applies to this design as well, which really is superb.
THIS IS AMAZING
I think this is pretty much my favourite one here Nice work
Re: Overkill
how does this shirt end up in the fog for a cyber-punk themed contest? Comparing this "art" to some of the others in this particular derby I'm actually a little upset. It's not RamyB's fault, he's doing his thing and that's fine, I dig his style for certain derbies and not for others, he has more talent than I do. I blame the voters. If this shirt gets printed for a cyber-punk contest, remember, you're the ones that did it.
This is cool. I like how the blue pops out, but is also perfectly balanced. Great work, Roger.
I have to agree with some of the others here; I'm really not seeing the cyberpunk in this at all.
Re: Sunset
what a great derby theme, yet somehow people still try and make it about bunnies? this gets my vote
Ok seriously I'm going to print this shirt myself if it doesn't win. This is an awesome design and I want it bad.
Re: Jacked In
Great image, but I don't think I could stand to wear it on a t-shirt. The image is too big to be comfortable, at least for me. I would totally hand that on my wall though.
Beautiful design, and beautifully colored. I see what you're trying to invoke, but honestly, most of it's too subtle to been seen at first; because of that and the implications, the most disquieting thing in it for me is the commercial jets being used for war.
Re: City Lights
nice job! this is really wearable
Re: Battery Cat Gets Juiced
DoOomcat is a pro at creating adorable little critters who actually have expressions and personalities.
Let's see if woot shows their double standard again when it comes to Ramy. This is obviously not cyberpunk, and more of a futuristic military concept. They rejected Walmazan's initial sub, now it is time for them to hold the same standard to this design. It is in no way cyberpunk.
Not my personal taste, but dude, awesome, it deserves be ranked at least close to the fog
Re: Cybergenesis
Super great artwork!

Re: BACK\SLASH
Really nice work, John. That pose is badass!
Re: Web 2.0
Shiny! I like the contrast of the blue web with the red of the spider's eyes. Nice!
Cheers, Diana, for breaking out of your mold and really creating something good!
Awesome cityscape! GMV!
I sort of think it should be a little bit bigger on the shirt.
Re: Punk Girl Beatdown
AHHH, LOVE! I need this shirt.
Re: Chunky City V.2
I think this is a unique interpretation of the theme. GMV again!
Re: CYBER CYBER BUN BUN 0011
Very cool drawing and colors! Well done
Very cool illustration!
Glad you guys like him! I just wanted to let everyone know that no animals were harmed in the making of this shirt. Since my Princess shirt apparently "condoned bestiality" (best crit I've ever gotten btw) I wanted to make clear that I also don't condone animal abuse.
WANT!
