Re: Cornered!

I like this one, although I do agree with the handgun style comments.

Is it just me, or does the drifting smoke look like the profile of a reindeer looking to the left?

Sure that's not intentional, its just what I saw at first, and now I can't un-see it.

Go figure! what with Armageddon in the news, perhaps you have a most timely design--which of course, I love.

I saw a wicked witch, tons of king kongs and some nods to casablanca so I thought referencing a movie was ok. And this is one of the great moments in pre-1960s cinema if you ask me.

Hehe, awesome. I love how they tried to give him super powers in the movie by just speeding up the footage. Ancient special effects is endearingly lovable

Looks great! I'm a newb to this derby business, can we use the whole shirt like that? I really like how it looks on yours and wish I knew that when I was making mine!

Great job!

Re: Delusions of grandeur

Definitely a well rendered piece. I would like to see what it would have looked like if the monkey was clutching the side of something like the iconic King Kong image. It works as is but maybe the clutching would make it more speedily read as a Kong reference. Well done, great color spotting.

Thanks! I'm not exactly sure. I really hope so, I've seen others in the past using a good amount of the shirt but I don't really know.

Re: Gone With The Color

Pardon me for my ignorance, but how is this on theme? The fact that it has the film strip holes on the side? If you took those away, it would just be a stylized landscape scene.

Re: Breaking News!

This shirt makes me think of the radio play version of The War of the Worlds (1938 War of the Worlds radio drama).

Your monster there does remind me of the monsters from War of the Worlds... Wikepedia describes them as 'bulky, octopus-like creatures' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Worlds#Plot).

Note, when that radio play aired, a lot of people thought it was an actual news bulletin because of the style it was delivered in. :D
