Time again for another march toward t-shirt doom! Discuss this week's life-or-death struggle for sales supremacy as chronicled on the Reckoning page all week long.

Here's how the Reckoning week runs now: every Tuesday at midnight, we retire the previous week's lowest-selling shirts and launch this here discussion thread. Tuesday around noon we'll post the all-new, all-early Reckoning Recon. On Friday, we'll juice demand and prime the pump with a little weekend reminder post. Finally, on the following Monday, the Day of Reckoning post sounds the last call for the Reckoned shirts. All of those posts will be linked below. Monday night (or Tuesday morning), it starts all over again. The Reckoning, she is a hungry beast...

Hate to be a prude, but "Intermission" would be a ton better if it didn't have a pack of smokes...marching on down to the lobby...marching on down to the lobby...marching on down to the lobby, to get ourselves a treat!

Oh hey, the WootBot is working today ... because it sure wasn't yesterday.

So before anyone comments, yes, there are a lot of noobs in the danger zone. It's been that way since like week #3. And yeah, there are only 26 this week; random shirt days don't get a second chance in reckoning.

So with that aside, another week's snapshot of sales.

(1) The Cheese is a Liederkranz - 13570
(2) Acquired Taste - 12386
(3) Death Served Till Noon - 3535
(4) Poison - 4936
(5) The Binge - 43416
(6) Eats, Shoots, and Leaves - 2632
(7) It Came Out Of Nowhere - 28663
(8) In Harmony - 4640
(9) If I Only Had a Brain - 4741
(10) Nevermore - 37670
(11) Meh - 7835
(12) Unstealthiest Ninja - 7612
(13) Reflections on Pi - 9284
(14) Forbidden Future - 2442
(15) Sunset - 2600
(16) Minor Modifications - 3981
(17) Odd Bear Out - 4917
(18) Rule No.1: Cardio - 2906
(19) Books – No Electricity Required - 4353
(20) Gozerhead - 2390

(21) Two Queens - 1430
(22) Pure Bread - 1676
(23) Swashbuckler Island - 2316
(24) The Mustache and His Loyal Sidekick - 1516
(25) Business Shirt - 1601
(26) Intermission - 1239

For reference of calculating the DSR, Poison sold 4681 on debut day and Forbidden Future sold 2336. You do the math yourself.

There was a random shirt this week, so only 6 new shirts, so only 26 shirt reckoning.

Wow, I sure can pick winners. I don't think I've ever bought a shirt from Woot that wasn't Reckoned in its first week. Looks like I'll be the only person on my block wearing Swashbuckler Island... which is exactly how I like it.

I have a good feeling about that shirt. Bet it swashes and buckles it's way out of the danger zone quickly.

Are you one of those people that want to digitally replace cigarettes with lollipops in classic films as well? Maybe sponge the N-Word out of classic literature, or maybe paint some pasties onto Renaissance era boobies?

If you hate being a prude, you can always, you know, not be one.

Does Woot have something big brewing behind the scenes?

Are there lots more of these crazy popular themed shirts(pop culture) coming up in the dailies to prompt such a move? No shirt since Poison has even sold 3000 on its first day yet let alone 5000.

Ever since the "Poison" shirt came out we haven't even had a remote shot at seeing if they are still even implementing the 5000 shirt sellout limit still. It could have just been a one off thing because they knew that shirt would sell out fast at the 3000 limit.

I kind of think they may have thought the "Bar Far away" and "Emperor Penquin" shirts would have done better than they did/have. If that's the measure for what is upcoming, the 5000 shirt limit might not be the best idea. Then again, I guess it doesn't hurt them any, unless they are actually producing 5000 first day shirts every time... We will have LOTS of random shirts then by the way these have been selling.

Also, I think now people are TRYING to get Quality Posts by stating the obvious about the No.obs each week. Glad to see the moderators not awarding the same stuff over and over again because the no.oobs haven't been surviving much at all over the last few months and none of them ever all come out of the danger zone, that's just how it goes each week. Same old Kwality Posts week after week about the n.oobs get old, haha.

So shouldn't I get a free shirt or something for doing what WootBot should've done otherwise? Bots aren't supposed to get days off, y'know.

Well my post this week calling it "Ragnarok for noobs" was a joke on that trend. And the fact I love the word Ragnarok.

Giving bots a day off here and there could help to push the robot revolution a little bit further into the future. You know, improve their working conditions a little.

I think that they dropped hints in another thread about how they weren't getting as many daily subs as you would think from the regular artists. Since then, or at least what would seem like since then, I've seen more regulars have dailies printed with more pop culture or goofy stuff then usual. Maybe that partly explains why were seeing some of the changes that we are seeing.

Statshot:

The Cheese is a Liederkranz has been avaliable for 6 weeks.

The Binge has been avaliable for 90 weeks, 15 times as long as The Cheese is a Liederkranz.

Considering the overwhelming disparity of time, does anyone else besides me find it amazing that The Cheese is a Liederkranz is already 33% of the way to overtaking The Binge as Woot's best selling t-shirt?

Never underestimate the power of a video game meme!

Early sales are skewing the numbers a bit though, and sales will continue to slump over time until they reach a sort of equilibrium.

Part of me wishes there was a pop.shirt.woot, nerd.shirt.woot, cute.shirt.woot, and art.shirt.woot. I know this is impractical and wouldn't make them any more money, but man, a dreamer can dream while waiting for 3037 to get here. :P

Probably. 360 sales on debut day is low no matter how we look at it.

It has sold 6 more since last night, though, so who knows. As evident in the reckoning, a shirt with lower total sales can rank higher because it's selling at a higher daily rate.

If it's started by a staff member, QP's are an option. Honorable mentions, reckoning, etc. For other threads, no.

I've talked to a few artists, and I know that there are derby regulars submitting dailies, but just not getting picked. They just passed on two of my designs, this week.
