Great concept, great execution. The only one I didn't get was "Lord of the Flies" -- I thought it was a queen bee.

Thanks! Though since I'm over 100 votes away from the fog, pretty unlikely. Will have to resubmit elsewhere eventually, already have some changes to make...

pharmacide wrote:I'd say to always make sure you have fun with your designs and don't try to cater to the crowd. I think most creative people would agree that when you aren't trying so hard to make some great masterpiece and are just trying to satisfy your own artistic desires is when you will have the most success. Your art will reflect this and you will have more satisfaction. Don't worry about technical skills. Those will come with time. Probably the most important thing is to learn how to create different effects with halftones. They aren't necessary but can give your shirt a different feel. So keep at it because I can see you have the skill and the desire.

Thank you so much for the wonderful tips. I will definetley try using halftones for this next derby.

I did learned a lot from this first derby so I will try my best on this next derby and submit it much sooner than this time.

samuelrsheridan wrote:I normally think posts that start with "Well I'm so educated I disagree with you" sound pretentious and Jatravartid. But as a playwright, with a MFA in playwrighting... you're wrong. You're overly generalizing, and you're being diminutive about a form of literature because it also functions in a performance art role?! That's just ridiculous.

I have an MFA in playwriting too! yay!

(And as someone who loves to both read a play and see it onstage, I agree with you.)

Re: THE ALLEGORY

I like how you imply that anyone who disagrees with you is badly read/ doesn't understand literature. I understand it just fine, thanks.

I still think this is tasteless though, which is something WOOT wants to avoid being associated with (which is why they don't allow toilet humour.) There are other ways to "debate literature"

This is really interesting. I feel like I'd prefer it if there were just a few colors mixed in. I'm sorry I didn't see it in time to vote for it. An alternative to cute doesn't come around enough.

katfin25 wrote:Aww you make me feel old! It was a public access tv show in the 80's and they reviewed the plot of a children's book each show in some creative fashion. And the host was Geordi from Star Trek, which I always enjoyed pointing out when my brothers had Star Trek on. I still do it when I come across Enterprise reruns!

I don't think you should feel too old. I wasn't even born until '87, and this show was totally my childhood.

And I think it says something about my upbringing that, rather than point out that Geordi was the guy from Reading Rainbow, I always watched Reading Rainbow and thought it was weird to see Geordi without his visor.
Thanks to my dad for that.
