Re: Adelita's Way
Dammit, I finally realized I forgot to add that I have Adelita on a Talaveras horse.
Re: La Fiesta
FYI it's official. I checked and yes, Wences has now tied Drakxxx for most tees in my closet.
Re: Palm Tree Ammo Mexico
Thumbnail doesn't match? Which color are you wanting to sub on?

Love it! At first I thought it was some red-headed kids in monster suits and I was like "Whuh...?"
Re: Dance with death
Did something a little different, this time I chose to go with the Comedic Genius of Cantinflas considered the Charlie Chapman of Mexico. There were some great entertainment resources from Mexican film history that were overlooked in this derby because everyone seem to gravitate toward some of the more common themes. Not saying my sugar skull was any less common, but I did try to use a not so common influence.
Photographs also not allowed. Cool idea, though, if you had drawn it yourself.

Good crickey.. imposter AGAIN???? Give it a rest!
Re: Candy Sacrifice
Awesome collab you two!
Re: What do you mean Roswell's in NEW Mexico?
Thanks for the votes and nice comments, guys! I really like the way this came out and had lots of fun making it.
Nice style and colors. This make me chuckle. :D
I hope this wins I will buy it!!!!!!!! CATCH FIRE PLEASE
blinddog3d wrote:This is clever. This would be clever-clever if it was a Aztec pyramid. Just stair-step the outline & have a shining sun/bowl of salsa behind a tortilla chip. Like the eye on the dollar bill. That's what I see, I could B Blind? BlindDog3D
Yeah. Definitly.that would have given it a nice flare. I have some pretty good ideas. I just don't have the ability to draw what I see in my mind. I don't want to sound like I'm bashing you or anyone I'm just thinking out loud. When it comes to design or art I feel like we are victims of consumerism if that is the right word. American chopper is a great example how much crap can we put on a bike till we can say its cool? Art seems to be taking up that trend. Its more what can I make that people will like. Rather than being self expression. Each of us is unique and should be able tocreate something unique. So Back to shirts I don't care to much for shirts that have been American Chopperized. Yes its harder to design and draw them but does that make them any better. I don't know. Sorry for the rant. Let me know if I wasted my breath.
I like it.

Who?
I am glad the Rejection Bot let this one slide. I was almost certain this would get hit for copyright infringement for being "Dora with a unibrow and upper lip hair" Although I've been a derby watcher long enough to know that rejections are far from a science, glad to see the legal team is being a little more open with clear parody. Nice shirt, and kudos to the editor who let this shirt enter the race.
slangstein wrote:Sorry if I'm missing something, but what's the correlation between hamlet and mexico? I do like the mexican skull though (is that what all mexican's skulls look like?) Oh and one more thing Hamlet doesn't hold the skull during to be or not to be, he does in his alas poor yorrick speech in the graveyard (sorry im strict when it comes to my shakespeare :p)
Luckily, the words "To be or not to be" aren't on the shirt, so at least I have that going for me. And the skull thing really just plays on the masks and candies that are made for day of the dead. As far as connecting Hamlet to Mexico, the connection is pretty much just me, I like Shakespeare and I like Mexico.

Different artist.
Re: Jaguar Crest
Super late submission FTW (but most likely NOT FTW). But hey, had to keep that derby streak alive ;) Anywho, this is a jaguar adapted to a European style crest/banner with pattern elements from the Aztec calendar. Hopefully u enjoy!
AdderXYU wrote:This could, hypothetically, be my first walmazan tee.
Yup. I've always respected the talent/skill involved, but they're usually not my style. This one is just awesome, though. GMV.
Re: Ay Chihuahua!
Resubmit without all the fast food trappings! Maybe a margarita instead of the soft drink, a brown paper sack instead of wrappers, I think it's a funny enough idea to stand without the Taco Bell reference.

I typed in "WIN THIS DERBY I DONT CARE IF I LOSE!!" but I did not typed "one more gargleblaster" I don't even know what gargleblaster is. WHAT"S HAPPENING?
Congrats on charging through towards the fog despite the lateness of the entry. If this prints I predict calls for pinata bans on Shirt.Woot.
Re: The Elegant Lady!!!!! La Catrina

Re: Mexico D.F.
I'm hoping this goes up as an everyday shirt or somehow is named an honorable mention. Definatly very honorable and memorable in my mind. Amazing work!
OK... even if this one doesn't win, PLEASE make it available. I can think of several people I'd like to buy this shirt for.
Love this shirt. Need this shirt. You better win.
mattcom wrote:Anywho, this is a jaguar adapted to a European style crest/banner with pattern elements from the Aztec calendar. Hopefully u enjoy!
The limbs look human to me. You've GMV anyway, since I'd happily wear this as a were-jaguar-spirit-thing and the patterning and coloring are just gorgeous. But I don't know if you were trying to make it seem humanoid; if not, maybe check feline anatomy a little more.
Re: Frida with Thorn Necklace and Marigolds
Frida Kahlo, a Mexican feminist, communist and artist. One of my favourites, to be honest. She does a lot of self-portraits depicting herself with manly brows Here are some details! Any critiques/tips for a first time poster? I'm welcome to all suggestions!
