Oscillating Owl on an Osakazuki maple tree!

Really wish I'd had time to finish this sooner, but I've been wanting to do a fractal-composed design for a while. The "owl face" of the Lorenz Attractor is the oscillation and Osakazuki is a specific type of japanese maple tree that has the brightest red leaves in the fall.

Re: Olm Ouroboros

Y'all can see in that image what you want to see there, but I think the proportions are a little elongated for a "pony," regardless of religious affiliation... although WIkipedia does say that the olm's body is "snakelike."

Here's a video of the olm in action that you can watch if you think I've distorted its appearance to be pervy.

If this was a straight parody of the "soap opera" genre, I'd agree with you, but this is obviously a play on words, and the soap is performing in the "opera" genre of entertainment. I think it's opera-related enough that it's fine.

Agree, it's been quite a while since I voted for one of your designs. It's refreshing to see something other than cute animals. You have a nice eye for glowy color.

Re: Orintholestes

What you have created here is nice but will not be able to print correctly on a shirt. The halftones you used are overlapping and cannot be. It is not a CMYK printing process that traditional paper prints use. The design gets printed with specific Pantone spot colors that you specify. Look up spot color separations for what I mean.
If you try the separations again you can probably eliminate a green in the dinosaur by using the shirt color since it is a green color as well. Usually this works best with the shadows in the design. By incorporating the shirt color you can gain a color.

Re: Omm.....

Words in other languages are still considered text. The OM symbol is written in Hindi and is derived from Sanskrit text. Another entry got rejected for using mathematical symbols so the text rule isn't limited to the English alphabet.
It's still outside the printable area. W00t can't print on the shoulders, only within the rectangle on their template.
Hope that helps a bit.

*edited because I kept forgetting what language your OM was in*

Re: Omm.....

I really feel things like this should get the artist banned, at least temporarily. You submitted this exact same design yesterday, and woot was very clear on why they rejected it: text, not a shirt color they offer, and outside the printable area. You didn't address a single one of those issues and just resubmitted it with NO changes.

Re: The Orchid Onryƍ

I love the design, and the white shirt works well for it, too. I only wish the colour ink you used weren't brown.

Pink...purple...green...any of those would work better thematically and practically and iMO, aesthetically too. Maybe consider a resub? I vote for purple since it's so sadly underused in woot shirts.

Really? Walz's shirt is a tomato tattling on the onion bully while ramy's shirt has the vegetables running away from the onion in horror and disgust.

Bully v. bad BO. Completely different concepts, using the same vegetables.

Although, I guess you could look at the onion's upraised hand as a fist, rather than a wave--I just don't think that's the case, going by the expression.

Kind of reminds me of a veggie version of Pumba, from The Lion King, really. Hakuna matata, everyone.

In W's original on Threadless, the onion is asking "what?" clearly unaware of its status as a "bully," as indicated by the title "Accidental Bully." So in both shirts, you have an onion with no malice intended causing other vegetables to cry.

Both shirts are the same shade of green. Both shirts feature a tomato and a piece of broccoli (both popular vegetables--yes, a tomato is both a fruit and a vegetable, I'm not going to get started there--but by no means the only popular, art-worthy vegetables out there)similarly placed on the shirt.

Even if Ramyb didn't intend to create a shirt so close to the original, the classy thing to do would have been to say, "Yeah, this is a little too close for comfort. I'll make appropriate changes and resub or do something totally different." He didn't behave that way.

I'm not a blind follower of W or any other artist. . . I didn't vote for all of his submissions this week. But I think if you showed the two shirts to a handful of people on the street, who had never heard of either designer, they'd agree they were very much alike.

I can't believe I'm arguing over the intentions of an onion.
