Re: Offensive Odor

Hasn't anyone ever heard of "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"? Seriously. Artists should be able to post their work and receive critique of it without being accused week in and week out of being a terrible designer, theif, whatever. This isn't meant to be a troll, but if you seriously don't have anything better to do with your time than tear people down on the INTERNET, get a life. I don't even particularly CARE for this design, but that doesn't give me the right to verbally abuse someone.
I agree that it is very similar to Walmazan's Threadless post, but if this were ANY other designer and this happened, no one would go out of their way to try to find grounds to accuse them of cheating or theivery or any other such nonsense. This wouldn't be the first time two designers were inspired by the same idea, nor will it be the last. It happened to me in last week's derby: same initial idea, different execution/technique/style/imagery. CLEARLY, I've missed some massively offensive act in the past that is taboo for discussion, but I've gotten so sick of people immediately tearing down designs just because they find some sort of sick amusement from it, or simply don't want a design to win and find it is easier to destroy the person than give a good critique of their work.
Play nice, kids. Sheesh. And feel free to tear my post apart, explain why insulting someone via the interwebs is deserved/appropriate, etc. Aaaaaaaand I'm done.
