Re: The Boy Who Cried
Nice design, you have a good eye for flowing lines! It is a little weird that you left the sketchy anatomy lines in there, though. Especially the skull circle which doesn't quite match up with the slope of the forehead. I love the wolf hat though.
What fairytale is this based on? The boy who cried wolf?
Re: Just Right
Sickly sinister scene while family casually plays video games and relaxes! Really cool, Kevlar!!
Re: Robin in da Hood
I really like that design! I'd want one, if the T-shirt wasn't grey.
Say "No" to sweat stains.
Re: Flight risk averted

Actually much more inspired by Richard Scarry's version.
I totally would have bought this :'(

Re: New Ending
This kinda looks like you just poster-ized a photo of a wolf, it's a little strange. The halftones on the cape make it look really see-through, perhaps take out the wolf-colors from behind it so that it looks more substantial like a piece of Red Riding Hood's cloak?
Re: Puss in Box
moosepod wrote:Nicely done. I was hoping for the eyes closed one, but this is still great!
Aw, next time tell me your preference in the thread
Glad you still like it though, thanks moosepod!
Hahahha, made me laugh real hard!

That would be interesting! Would it be recognizeable as Red Riding Hood in that case?
thatrobert wrote:The cape and texture are very nice. Consider an alternative version with no body -- an empty cape.
i second that!
Re: Pin Up Rapunzel
Sometimes mice and enchanted hairbrushes just don't get the job done properly!
Re: Where the Gold is At
who all had seen da alabama leprechaun say yeah!
Re: Der Mond
Looks gorgeous on the t-shirt!
Re: The Ugly Gruntling
I'm sure there's some video game joke here that I'm not getting. -.- Halo? SC2?
runnerfrog13 wrote:Hahahahahahahaha. Clever, and good job setting up the punchline. Though, in the shirt comp, at first I was confused thinking your color-spots were part of the design. Quickly sorted out however. I do worry that the + and = would be considered non-incidental text.
(ps- Somehow the idea of a guy mating with a mosquito is rather disturbing)
I would think the "fairy" in parentheses is even more non-incidental (or less incidental).
Even a blind squirrel is right twice a day.
Re: Baba Yaga
link to larger jpeg of the design
Baba Yaga is the witch in many Slavic tales. She popped up in many other tales through out the years ranging from a children's series called the Sisters Grimm to the Dark Horse comic Hellboy. Her tales are filled with so much imagery that I couldn't resist a design inspired by her.
Re: Missed Curfew
good idea, but not vote worthy, you could of spent more time finishing the lines at least.

Halo, yes! Elites, Grunts, the Covenant. The Grunt is the cannon fodder of the Covenant army.
Re: You Can't Catch Me
Which language / writing is this?
Re: The Toy Peddler
This is amazing. If *cough* it fails to print, please submit elsewhere?
Re: Distracted Prince (Resub)
For all the ladies whose Prince Charming turned out to be not very charming at all. ;-)
This subject is perfect for your style. GMV!
Maybe instead of the text you can have a guy in the middle that looks like Dr. Phil? Is that against the rules (celebrity likeness?) Or maybe just a guy that looks like a psychologist or a dry erase board with markers as if they're getting ready to have a meeting and jot down ideas? Hope you can resubmit this!
Awesome shirt. I remember reading Baba Yaga stories when I was a kid. Grandmother witch will trample you with her chicken leg house if you don't watch out.
Re: Puss in Shoe
Yeah, yeah it's a cat AND a video game reference. I have sinned.
rockin'. love this marriage of subject and style
Re: The House of Baba Yaga
Awesome. I love the love for Grandmother Witch in the entries so far. So many childhood memories.
blk909 wrote:This design is so well done that I had to remove some of my other votes. I have to have this shirt!
Aw, shucks! I'm so glad you like it.
Since this got rejected because of the text, what about changing the wolf to look like a doctor and the other characters are just waiting in the waiting room reading magazines from the table. I think that would work without any text explanation. Just an idea!!!
Love your "gangsta" robin! I'd buy it!
runnerfrog13 wrote:You should re-sub this without the text. Maybe to make it more obvious, you could put pins in the wings as if they're holding the wings open, and/or put one fairy in the middle of two butterflies that have been previously collected?
Yes, do something! Funniest one I've seen yet
Congrats from one Baba Yaga designer to another!
That does sound like an interesting idea. It'll take a few to flesh it out and remake a couple things, but I'll have something up as an "Alt" to this in a bit.
I love the way this turned out. Nice progression from the pre-derby thread and great outcome!!

Re: Jack and the 8-Bit Beanstalk
While I love the concept I
- wouldn't think "Jack and the Beanstalk" if I saw someone wearing it, while walking down the street; I'd think Mario.
-rarely enjoy a shirt that has a graphic that takes the entire area of the shirt. For one, it can speak of a lack of interesting composition, which I feel here. Two, having a graphic so big on a shirt means alot of ink on that shirt, and the shirt won't move or breathe well, so the function of the shirt becomes compromised.
Try a different take on this, where the stalk is up the side, clouds and castle up top, and just have it pop from the shirt, with no background. Also, do something that makes us think "Jack", not "Mario". I think you'll have a sleek design that'll get many votes!
Fantastic work! Print! +1
