Re: Adam Antium Forever Tattoo

OEmGee, I'm squealing like a little girl! I'm SUCH an Adam Ant fan! (wish I could get that backward D in here!) Stand and Deliver! Physical! Oh, yeah, you just hit me in my rebellious 80's heart. I'm not confident the greater Woot realm will be captivated by this, but it's an A+ mashup for me. And the tatto flash style is great. +++ from me, if only I could!

Hey, now, I have great respect for Octane - both the one that fuels my PWNYin' little Camaro, and the Sirius/XM station. I could wear this for either reason!

OK, I am confused. I followed both mish-mashed tinyurl links, after figuring out they were run together. I don't get it. I'm not gonna say the rejectionator is wrong, but - please clarify. I'll be crushed if this isn't original, but I reserve judgment until I can actually see the source.

His other rejected entries from this derby might be a factor.

Me too, Paige!
I used to dress like him when I went his concerts, I saw hime 5 times, once in London. Beat my Guest is my favorite, and Physical is a close second. Then he went POP!

resub of the same design on navy blue with color variation and a detail image which shows more of the design. If you prefer it on asphalt click the image in my signature below to compare and decide

Re: Adam Antium Forever Tattoo

I don't get it, neither one of those go anywhere but tinyurl.

Seriously, just post them in the thread.

So, If I used the X-men "X" it would have been better? That X has been used all over the place, they weren't the first. There's only so many ways to make one and I liked that one. So what?

People get rejected every derby for using photos or borrowing stuff and don't get this kind of thrashing. At least I do it by hand. This kinda close to harrassment is not fair.

If you want to reject it, then reject it, but don't you ever talk/type to me that way. And I still haven't seen the images you posted.

Re: Adam Antium Forever Tattoo

I don't even particularly like this design, but to be fair, diamond designs are pretty common and generic, and even so, the picture linked in the rejection isn't even the same as the diamond in the shirt. If you want to reject it just for the x, whatever, but throwing the diamond in there brings down the credibility of the whole rejection.

They just hatin'!
I did it as a tattoo mash-up. I rendered each and every pixel in my computer and I drew the Adam Ant cartoon by hand (I dare you to tell me THAT was traced/stolen)! There are 4000 diamond images/designs out there, There are only 6 ways to cut one. I freanikin' did that in Adobe Ilustrator with math! It's geometry, you have my pdf, look at it. OMGOMGOMG! The "X" is OMGOMGOMGPONIESOMG PONIES!, but the diamond is out-right predjudice.

whatever, ...see ya next time.

Tracing and coping is okay for a potential artist learning the craft (we are often taught to learn from the masters). It is not okay for an "artist" to trace or copy in order to make some easy money. And you have mention in many of your seizuring posts that you really want to win. If you still need to trace to create something, you are still learning a craft and are not ready to make money off your "art," so burrito dude is right that you might not have a place here... at least not yet

An artist was banned for coping a design, and you are accused/ busted of tracing which is a lot worst. No grey area in tracing. I really don't think you should shrug the comments off and play victim. You should admit you did wrong and avoid tracing and coping in future entries.

If you don't like my design or think it's not kosher, fine, you know the game. I'm just rying to get a design people like that can make it to the fog without getting rejected. They rejected my other design because my black tshirt looked NAVY. They can do whatever theey want. So can you, so can I.

BlindDog3D

Protip: yer doin' it wrong.
I don't have the formula for winning derbies, but I have the formula for losing:
1. Piss off the rejectionator
2. Piss off other artists
3. Piss off the voting public
4. Repeat offender (of whatever transgression)
Yes, the rejectionator is discriminate, but you have painted a huge target on your head, and unless you're squeaky clean, you're going to get whacked, regardless of quality, regardless of skill, regardless of originality. People are gunning for you. Maybe not at ramyb levels, at least not yet, but they are gunning for you. You can't take shortcuts.
If you have any doubts, "Navy vs. Black" should clear them right up. These people count colors fergourdsake.

move along

bassanimation wrote:Guys, I tried to pm the artist about this, but Nyancat is very, very protected at this point. The original owner of the image has filed for copyright/trademark on it, and from what I heard/read, they are actively forcing the removal of all parody of Nyancat. There's some other artists who did Nyan parodies and they were forced to remove their shirts from sales sites.

I love this image, but I dont want anyone in trouble. There's other artists confirming that indeed, the Nyancat owner, as well as the company producing apparel for Nyancat, are not allowing these images for sale.

Sorry ;_;. The only reason Im posting this here is so other artists are aware of the situation.

Hello. It might be advisable for you to reconsider your communicative behavior within these forums.

Personal attacks and vague threats of "if we need to meet" are not acceptable here, and any further such comments will be dealt with accordingly.

When a design is rejected for being unoriginal work, it is generally considered wise to swallow one's pride--along with the community's vocal unhappiness at what they see as betrayal (oh, and community? Cool it if he does, ok? Fair is fair)--and move on with dignity and class.

Please take the time you need to consider your choices and take this post as a friendly and (as yet) unofficial warning.

Thank you and good luck.
