Part of the fun of owning a pet is the entertainment value they provide. I saw this example and decided to use it in this derby. it reminded me of my cats and the silly ways they would react to things when they were kittens.

Thank you, Mavyn, krubdesigns, beefstick, mardigraw, novastarj, neoheraclitan, DianaSprinkle, kevincrimi, gement, Spiritgreen, oubliette! I appreciate your comments, votes and criticisms. As per DianaSprinkle's request, here is the design in a large but just as blocky format:

I start every morning on about three hearts. it's not untill i eat breakfast and have some coffee do i get full hearts. And then oddly enough i can shoot swords across the room.

For those that don't get it... it's referencing the old Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda. At the beginning of the game you go through a door where an old man says, "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this!" and gives you a sword.

Dude, who wouldn't get it? I'm sure even younger people have played this on emulators.

By the way, anybody remember where you have to bomb to get the syrup?

It's been so long since I've played, even on the emulator. I'll have to drag out my NES and play again!

I like the concept, but the black on dark grey is going to be really hard to see if printed.

Re: Afternoon stroll through the park

my first thought upon seeing the shirt was the rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail...
"I *warned* you, but did you listen to me? Oh, no, you *knew*, didn't you? Oh, it's just a harmless little *bunny*, isn't it?"

=)

kevincrimi wrote:Its a little too small and stretched out to read it.

Next time, try making a new comp image 560x560 and then paste your shirt in. This way it keeps the proportions right and you can add in zoomed in details of your images

Will do. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Sandwich Maker 3000

Here's my problem with this design; It looks as if someone took a picture of their kid making a sandwich and "digitized" it. The result is a design that looks "personal" and not generic or idealized enough to be generally accepted.
I think you did a good job with it, though.

I like this, but I do wish this was a different color. Seems like it fades too much into the baby blue look.

Hey j5 , really cant be 100% sure if its right as english its not my main language but for the info I could find in google "debugger" its right , as it has to be with to "debug" , as in computers or your house or plants , so in this case the graphic works with the play on words for nose buggers and computer or house or plants bugs , maybe Im wrong and Im not doing it the right way as sometimes that kind of word jokes or puns are hard to do for me as I dont know english perfectly, hope this makes sense some way.

thanks.

This IS part of my everyday life. Being an active member of a rabbit rescue, I have not necessarily "run away" but I do related to its meaning. Thanks Ramyb. I love your designs and want all the bunny ones ( especially the ones with death). +2 please!

Re: WORDS WITH FRIENDS

I know it's difficult to see on the comp image but all the letters of the board are labeled correctly (ex: DW, TL, etc.)

Hope you like it!

Ha. You'd almost be spot on with that analysis. It's my brother. I was wondering while making it how the community would react because at some point in the midst of it, I checked the pre-derby thread and it seemed like everybody was going in a completely different direction than I had interpreted the theme as. Additionally, something felt off and it felt for the most part to be more like pixel-art than something that belongs on a t-shirt.

Regardless of the end result, i DID have a fun time making it, and it was totally in a realm I hadn't tried before. Looking at all the other designs in this derby I think I'll try to rethink this design and submit a late one. So any suggestions towards how to improve upon would be appreciated. Especially considering that I really really like the way the jars turned out so those probably won't change.
