Yep, my crystal ball is still a POS (well, at least half the time) ... and I'm probably a (shirt) nerd for doing this.

Congratulations to Patrick Spens - Acquired Taste has made it to the 1/2 year mark, still with solid sales numbers week after week. Indeed, it's the only shirt I know of that got the best seller bragging rights twice - first in its debut week and again in its third week.

Nevermore will definitely pass the 40k mark during the woot-off sale too. And if woot decides to do something spiffy like the white-on-black tote instead of the current black-on-asphalt, it might last even longer. There's slate and silver now - make use of that!

Nice to see perfect moment at 21, looks like it will end up getting out of the Danger Zone.

How does this work exactly? Is the rank based entirely on weekly sales? I'm confused since The Binge is ranked fourth although to the right of the page it is listed as having been the lowest seller of the week with only 1 shirt sold.

Is it a combination of weekly sales and total sales?

Lowest sales is since the restart of the reckoning - so 1 hour 50 minutes ago.
It is based on th weekly sales of the past 4 weeks, iirc (minus anything sold during the initial day and any woot-off that might happen9.

Yup.

It's 4 weeks total, so the sales from this week along with the sales from the past three weeks, then averaged out for a daily sales rate and ranked from that.

(FWIW, all of my posts, past, present, or future, that calculate the DSR is only approximate. While I have the basic formula down, I don't know whether aspects like coupon purchases count in the tally ... and such would be impossible for an outsider like me to track and factor in.)

I'd bet that the presentage of self-identified nerds that come to Woot is higher than for a lot of sites I'm proud of my nerditude and try to set a good example for all the young nerd dudes and gals at my school.

Yeah, there's no way I can argue that. Sure, I flipped more tails than heads earlier in the day, but then rethinking it ... how often am I first sucker? And so it was like "meh. why not?" ... and so I did.

On another note, I definitely won't be around for the shirt woot-off hour later, so I've taken the liberty to directly link the stats pages here. Someone else please take over the stats reporting at the start and end of the woot-off ... it's absolutely necessary in getting good DSR numbers for the next month.

Yep - THANK YOU! The thing is, this isn't so much just for my own curiosity, but for all the artists too, that there's verifiable evidence that Woot's rankings/calculations are what they should be. We don't need a repeat of what happened with Four Seasons In One Day, y'know.

Will my calculations ever be 100% perfect? Nope. Will they be close enough to gauge whereabout a shirt's rank should be? Yep.

Anyone else notice that today's (Tuesday) reckoning recon posting by the WootBot was ninja posted with Monday's date? And that the WootBot must hate 26th and 27th place so much that they were excluded from the list ...

As this point, three non-noobs will sink come Monday. That's probably the most we can expect, though. There have definitely been more strong sellers in recent months, and nowadays a daily sales rate of 18-20 is more likely necessary for survival than the 15 it was in the past.
