Thanks for saying so. It seemed clear enough as I was making the design, but maybe I got too immersed in the details and the bigger picture got away from me a little. That'll be helpful if I rework it.

Yeah, I didn't really see the fire hydrant at all. I don't think it's obvious enough. The first thing I thought of honestly was Swedish Fish, they look like Gummi candy and the shape reminded me of a fish.

I like this idea but maybe to cement it a little more to the poker painting your referencing you could have put some hints of cards on the screen instead of just leaving them green. I'd loose the blue and add a white so that you could do the card shapes, you have black already and you can sub the red with the brown your already using. Just my two cents

Ohhh. I didn't look very closely in the prederby thread because I was rushing, but I did wonder what I was missing. Did not see the fire hydrant.

I did also think they looked kind of like gummi dogs. Very cute gummi dogs!

I love it except for the orange splash beneath the orange dog. Maybe it's just cause I haven't seen the movie and would get it if I saw the film Reservoir Dogs; but coming from someone who hasn't seen the film. the orange splash is a distraction. Otherwise, the design is epic! :D

Haha! That's a great Grr!

I was actually excited about this piece at first glance, before I realized its just pop references. I work for a local animal shelter and often am out working with the dogs in the park and it seemed as though this was personifying dog personalities at first.

Woot didn't show up on my radar till shortly after this derby (I began entering in November). I had not seen this entry before.

I certainly did not intentionally intend to copy Travis.

I guess it is up to Woot to determine whether Lassie pushing Timmy down the well is a unique enough concept to warrant rejection on those grounds.

Yeah as soon as I typed "silver" I realized it wouldn't look right with the dog. I like it the way it is, I just prefer lighter gray colors and continue to miss heather gray.
